We were a bit surprised to find out the restaurant wouldn’t take reservations on Friday and Saturday night for a party of less than 5 but decided to roll the dice and try it anyway. We arrived at 7pm and were told the wait would be 30 minutes for a table for 2. It was exactly 27 minutes later and we were seated at a high top table near the bar. I would have preferred the dining room as the ambiance there was lovely and the bar area tables were quite close together and the ambiance not nearly as nice. The waiter was good quality, not overly informative but attentive and pleasant. We ordered a bottle of wine (which the restaurant will cork for you and you take with you if you don’t finish the bottle) and an appetizer. Before the appetizer arrived we were brought bread and olive oil and a lovely amuse-bouche compliments of the chef. The bread wasn’t warm which was a bit of a letdown but the flavor was wonderful. The appetizer, Suppli’ al Telefono (crispy sausage & mozzarella stuffed risotto balls) and they were piping hot and delish!!! Our entrees quickly followed….Fettuccine alla Vodka Rustica, (ribbons of fresh pasta, local Italian sausage, pancetta, vodka tomato cream, parmesan, paprika) and Chicken Parmigiana (chicken, parmesan and mozzarella, marinara, house made creamy herb capellini) and they were both excellent. The vodka cream sauce was thicker than I’d expected it to be but the flavors were delightful and the fresh pasta was a real treat. The portion sizes were plentiful as well. We shared a dessert of a flourless chocolate cake with molten ganache and vanilla bean gelato…….Mmmmmmm! we scraped the dish! Great date night location!!!
