This smaller, newer Marriott is one of the sleekest and most comfortable of any that you'll find in the chain. The location right off I-25 (with quiet rooms facing toward the mountains) is 30 minutes from the airport via the toll road, 30 minutes from downtown, and well-situated for ranging south to Colorado Springs. It's in the midst of corporate upscale suburbia, so there's nothing with local texture anywhere in sight, but the site on high ground affords a big-sky introduction to this part of Colorado. The staff tries hard to be polite, though when I stayed there, most were recent East European hires and didn't always get your drift precisely when you asked questions. The only negative about this hotel is the mediocre food in the restaurant (e.g. inability to poach eggs properly and dried-out bagels at breakfast). When and if they bring in a foodservice director or chef who's determined to get it right, this will be a five-star Marriott.
