I am not sure about the ride, me and my kids never made it, but I would highly recommend reading other peoples reviews about the ride - not impressive. It was a Tuesday and I wanted to take my kids horseback riding the following Friday. I left a message that was not returned until Wed, at which point I called back and left another message. I got another return call, but every time I called in I never got anyone to answer. Finally on Thus morning I recognized the number, and although I was at work, answered the phone. I let him know that I wanted to take an hour ride and he told me he had two options - 9am or 4pm. All other rides that day were longer so I would have to pay more or go at those times. It honestly felt like an attempted up-sell. Well, my daughter had to work at 5pm, and we live out by DIA, so I needed to make sure we could make it out there by 8:30am for a ride. I told him I would call him back to confirm. He told me ok. When I called back @ 3:30pm that same day, I had to leave a message because again, no one answered the phone. I let him know that me and my two kids would be there for the 9am ride, so if there were any problems to please call me back. If I did not hear from him, then I would assume all was good. Friday 7:30am, in the car to make sure we made it there by 8:30am, at about 8:15am he called to tell me he had no horses for us. He said he always takes a credit card and if I did not leave one then he could not get us on horses. I asked him why he did not call me back sooner as we were almost there and my kids were very excited to go riding, and he simply said they don't always check the messages. I guess my biggest complaint is the lack of communication, the lack of customer care, and the lack of customer service. He never once communicated with me a time frame or that he could not hold our spot without a credit card. He was rude and uncaring about my situation, then had the nerve at 8:50am to call and let us know a woman did not show, so if we could get there in 15 minutes we could ride. WE WERE COMING FROM DIA and by then found another place to ride. This really was a blessing in disguise because we found A & A Stables who immediately accommodated us THAT MORNING. They provide historic trail rides up by central city. It really was not much further than Chattfield, and the scenery was breathtaking, Aspen trees, valleys, big lush green pine trees... we even got to tour a historic grave yard. Ginger the owner was super nice and definitely earned our business with her clear understanding of how to treat a customer. I would highly recommend A&A Historic Trail rides for your next horse back riding excursion!
