“This place looks like postcard!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2012

Absolutely gorgeous - two lakes surrounded by mountains. Fishing, kayaking, boating available. You can hike part of the Colorado Trail to the historical Inter-Laken resort & Decker House - about a 5 mile roundtrip that's not too strenuous. Not at all touristy or crowded.

“Certainly worth a stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012

My favorite thing to do in Twin Lakes is to follow the trail from the east end of the lakes running on their south side to the old Inter-Laken Resort, being restored as a labor of love by local volunteers with the partnership of the Forest Service. (Unless you have a high clearance vehicle, be alert on the drive to the trailhead - it is passable for standard passenger vehicles, but the large rocks [really, small boulders in places] still make it an adventure.) For those not into a 2.5 mile hike each way, the historic district in Twin Lakes Village is also worth a stop. One word of warning as you drive through the village - Though I've never run afoul of the speed limit here, I've seen plenty of evidence that these folks and the county sheriff are really serious about the 30 mph limit, appropriately so due to the large number of people who wander back and forth across the main road between the historic district and the businesses.

“Family Fun on the water/ camping”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2012

Its a cool little place and small town? on the Lake's sandy beaches and small sites to hang on the water or in the water, A little out of the way so bring everything you might need for the day. Enjoy.

“Peaceful if you pick a good spot!”

It was a very nice afternoon!! Depending on where you are at around the lakes. It is very peaceful, some beach-like areas, the water is frigid!!
