If this restaurant was in LoDo it would probably be very successful.
I am still on the fence on Cava however. On the one hand I love the idea of a unique dining option in Lakewood that offers the tastes of faraway Spain. And being adventurous I have been intrigued by their menu. I have had 2 good, 1 not so good meal there. But in all cases I may have just picked something way out side my comfort zone. So final rating may be amended most likely up.
On the plus side---- atmosphere is fantastic, great decor and furnishings, privet dining room with the tree stump wall is spectacular. Perhaps bar area is a little too dark? I love to sit there with some reading, glass of wine....I'll get a picture next time I'm there. Very different and unique menu items, great wine selection and martini's too. I do like that you are offered a culinary adventure here. There is nothing like Cava in Lakewood but sometimes that's for a reason?
Example - prochuto wrapped dates - there is a reason you don't find those everywhere perhaps? They are godawful, seriously skip them no matter how enticing they sound.
Ok so I had a bad experience with a poorly chosen item. Totally on me.
Would I go there again? Yes, especially as I'm getting to know the menu and I'm staring to find things that I like.
