“Memorable Meals- Keep Returning for More”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

We have been dining at the Keystone Ranch for decades. Over the years, the menu has undergone significant changes to meet the needs of its clientele. Instead of having only 1 fixed price, there are now several options. The portions were significantly larger in years past, but so was the price point. The best deal by far is the 2 for 1 that occurs once or twice a year.

You can't beat the ambiance of this rustic log cabin with a blazing fireplace. The added feature of having a relaxing dessert in a separate sitting room adds to the unique experience. The grand marnier soufflé is a signature dessert that should be tried at least once. If you still have room, a round of chocolate follows your dessert. From the sitting area, one can gaze at the golf course with the mountains in the background. It is a spectacular view.

The food is what makes our family repeat diners. Every course is prepared with fresh ingredients. Some dishes are more daring than others. Simple things like their homemade breads including the banana bread remain a standout. While the menu is limited, it does provide a cross section of items that will appeal to vegetarians, carnivores, and fish lovers. If you're into wild game, it is one of their specialties. We have shared many happy moments at the Keystone Ranch. I cannot recall any disappointing meals. One of our vegetarian guests wished that there were more vegetarian options.

In addition to the wonderful food, we have experienced a knowledgeable and attentive wait staff. All have been able to answer our questions or have gone to seek the answer from the chef. Their recommendations have usually been helpful if we are uncertain about a particular dish. Our food was always served hot and our water glasses never dropped lower than half filled.

If you're in Summit County, CO, and want a special meal, consider making a reservation at the Keystone Ranch.

“Wonderful atmosphere/wine/food”

Food is always fabulous. Wine menu is comprehensive and service is always stellar! After a wonderful meal, dessert is served by the fireplace in the lounge.

“Top notch restaurant even better with 2 for 1 offer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We have a timeshare week at Swan Mountain Resort in Summit Cove that coincides with Keystone Ski Resort's closing. Every year I anxiously scan the Summit Daily News for the annual Keystone Ranch 2 for 1 offer which we discovered a couple of years ago. This year it wasn't announced until Wed & as I headed out to ski, I asked my honey to call & make a reservation.
Five of us arrived Fri night for our 6:15p reservation & we were thrilled to be seated at a prime window-front table with a beautiful view of Mt Baldy in the distance. With DST, we were able to enjoy watching the weather change as well as the geese wandering about as dusk fell. We were thrilled when a heavy snow squall arrived even if it did obscure our view of the sunset!
Catrina did a fine job waiting on our table. We made our 5 choices & waited for the feast to begin. I had the Pork Cheek appetizer, my honey had the "rueben" app & everyone else ordered the mussels. Next we had soup & both choices were excellent; the standard "ranch soup" w/buffalo & the butternut squash/carrot(?). Our salads were interesting as well; we ordered the Greek & the rest of the table ordered the Spinach. For our main dishes most of us ordered the elk which was fabulous. The striped bass was raved about by our table mate & my honey enjoyed his NY Strip. All the dishes were exquisitely presented & included interesting touches.
My favorite part of the evening is retiring to the large sitting room for dessert. Catrina tried to get us moving in order to be seated by the fireplace but we didn't move fast enough. That was OK since some of us don't need any extra heat. We found a nice grouping of seats & settled in, watching the snow fall outside. All of us ordered the new griddle carrot cake w/cream cheese ice cream which we ate up like we hadn't just consumed 4 courses. We were not rushed to leave so we melted into our comfy chairs, had Catrina take photos & continued our conversations until almost 10p!
What a fabulous evening at Keystone Ranch. It is a worthwhile dining experience that I highly recommend, even at full price! I only wish we could return to take advantage of the Ski Tip Lodge's 2 for 1 this weekend - another great local restaurant in the Keystone area.

“Great ambience; fair food; great deal!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

First the good news: The service was excellent (contrary to some other reviews), the ambience is fabulous: log interiors, fine carpets, fine rustic furniture, artifacts, stuffed elk heads, roaring fire in the sitting room, where one moves for deseert, and great views. At certains times during the season (watch for the ads in the local paper) a two-for-one deal is offered - pay $75 for one 5-course meal, and get the second one free - terrific deal. Now the bad news: the food is good, but not spectacular. It is imaginatively presented and creatively selected, but on the evening that we went, I was glad I wasn't paying full price.

“We had great food and great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

We have been going to Keystone for about 6 years and have never made it to the Keystone Ranch. We finally got there on 3/18 and we will be back. A few reviewers were unhappy with the service, but our server was wonderful. We had an eighth grader with us (a boy) and he just could not find anything on the menu that he would eat. They let him order of the childs menu - our son is defintely in 8th grade - but he is 6 foot tall. The server was only condcerned that our entire family enjoyed dinner - and did not concern himself on how or how young our son was. Many fine dining establishments would not have been so easy to deal with on the teenager issue.

My husband had the Elk, I had Artic Char and our son had a great Hamburger. We all had a bowl of the Vension/Elk Stew and it was great. We had dessert in their room with the great fireplace and we could not have enjoyed ourselves any more. I think this is the best dining in Keystone at this point of time.
