“Filet, Wow, I don't think I can even say enough!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

We went to the Fondue place 3 days earlier and considered canceling since same Gondola experience. SO GLAD we didn't, totally different experience, same charming Gondola ride, and our two dining experiences on top of the North Peak are the highlight of our keystone vacation. The atmosphere is quaint, intimate and cozy. The wine and drink selection were excellent. We are not foodies, but we are not snobs either, and this meal was in our top 5 beef experiences (ok, that sounded weird but true.) We had the Venison soup and the Butternut Squash soup; the first being better as the Squash soup was closer to a side dish than a soup, though the taste was delicious. We had the rabbit appetizer (yum!) and the scallops, very nice but the rabbit was excellent. The breads were FABULOUS, don't skimp on the carbs tonight. But the beef rib and the filet entrees both, well, rendered us speechless. We had the velvet cheesecake and berry cobbler for dessert, both good but not as amazing as our entrees, so wish we had tried the chocolate dessert. One note is that we brought a 9 year old and her options were limited as well as $32 prix fixed options. She has a dish of fruit, the bread shared by the table, the pasta which was ordinary and a sundae. You decide if that is worth $32 to someone who could care less and wanted to leave early. I would recommend doing the Der Chessel Fondue and saving this for an adult only experience, though admittedly our teenagers felt the best entree they have ever eaten. Since they are teenagers, not sure they deserve this kind of meal for the price ( Seriously, the restaurant Didn't have internet to text friends back home so it was a problem? Go back to the condo! I digress.) Highly recommend this restaurant as one you will not forget for the experience and the food.

“GREAT PLACE TO BE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

It was one of the best rides in a gondola (approx 40 minutes - best was the ride in Hong Kong to Lantau Island Gondola) but the scenary is fantastic, It was just after sunset so we did not get the best view, however it was a great ride, great atmosphere - service could have been better, took awhile to get food.

The food was great, the combination of the location, the restaurant and the fact that you are at 11,000 + feet above sea level makes it magical.

slightly overated.

“wonderful Christmas dinner with family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

We ate Christmas dinner 2013 at Alpenglow Stube with our daughter and her husband and his family. To get to the restaurant we took 2 gondolas. They gave us blankets to stay warm for the 30-40 minute ride. It is so beautiful and quiet while in the gondola. Upon arrival at the top of the mountain, we walked a short distance to the Alpenglow. It is cozy in the restaurant. They have a beautiful stone fireplace where the manager took a photo of our family. The service is excellent. We were so thrilled to see that the menu had a page inserted in it welcoming our party by name. We were told that page would be given to us at the door when we departed. That was awesome. Some of us had the 7 course chef's dinner, while others had 4 or 6 courses. It was a lot of food, but you pay a lot for it. The food was very well presented and was cooked perfectly. Among our party of 8, we had venison, fish, steak, scallops, lamb and other delectable items. Sometimes multi-course meals I've eaten at other restaurants have very small portions. This restaurant had portions that would have filled up the hungriest person I know. Some of our group even took some food home.
This made for a wonderful, memorable experience. When we left, they gave me an etched wooden ornament to commemorate our dinner there. Overall, it was an excellent experience.
Do note however that if you have a party of 8 (or larger), they will automatically add in a 20% tip. So, if in doubt about whether the tip is already included, be sure to ask.
Check out the menu online before you go so you are prepared for each person's meal (with tax and tip and drinks) to be well over $100 for the 7 course meal. We all thought it was worth it.

“Solid food. Great people”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

Just had 3 hr lunch. Food was solid, particularly for on mountain restaurant. Pluses, seafood chowder, onion dinner roll, pan seared scallops, and apple cobbler. We had slow service at outset but manager michael made it right with complementary desserts. Server Andi was personable, pleasant, and professional. She's a keeper.

If u have the time, don't sleep on this one. A great lunch experience

We'll be back.

“Our family's favorite in the area.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013 via mobile

We went to Alpenglow Stube for lunch on a Thursday. The gondola trip up and back made the adventure a favorite of our trip to Colorado. The meal serving sizes were adequate but not overly large. Our party of five enjoyed each appetizer and entree. I am sure this would be a lovely trip at night, but we are glad we went during the day so that we could see the spectacular view.
