“Top of the Mountain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

We have traveled to Summit County for years but never got to the Alpenglow Stube. We were there in July and took a 6:00 pm reservation in order to enjoy the view on the gondola rides. We were seated by a window in a relatively quiet corner as per our advance request. Service, food and wine and atmosphere were festive and excellent.

“Consistently Awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

I've eaten at Alpenglow Stube three times in the last 4 years and it's consistently awesome. I love having to take the Gondola rides to the restaurant. The food and atmosphere are awesome. The scenery is amazing. It's an annual visit for me

“Great experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

We enjoyed the Sunday brunch for our anniversary, and it was wonderful. We took the two gondolas to the restaurant, and then we were welcomed by the hostess and made to feel welcome. Even though we were a bit early, we were seated near the fireplace for our dining experience. The buffet food was delicious and varied. We especially enjoyed the smoked and chilled seafood; the fresh fruit was also quite good. The entrees ordered from the menu were delicious; I had the wild berry brioche French toast, and my husband had the seafood omelet. We may make this an annual event!

This is another favorite. You take the Gondola up the Mountain for a wonderful meal in an incredibly beautiful setting.

“The Menu change”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

The Alpenglow Stube at the top of Keystone, accessed by two Gondola rides has long been a favourite of ours. We go once a year. Rumour has it, it is only a 4* restaurant because it lacks valet parking. Otherwise, everything else about it makes it a 5* restaurant; and what a place it used to be.

Two things made it a unique dining experience: Being at 11,000ft+ and the famous Chef's Choice dinner. This was a 7 course meal where you, the guest, had no say in what was put in front of you (obviously if there was something you couldn't/wouldn't eat you could make that request), you were at the mercy of the chefs. The food was sublime, exquisite; delicate sized portions with abundance of flavours. We loved it every time.
However this year they menu had changed.
There was a Chef's choice menu but instead of getting a surprise for 7 courses, you had to choose between a couple of dishes for each course. And then there was the typical a la carte, chose each course.
Once again the food was excellent but by not having the old-school chef's choice I felt I was in a restaurant that was the same as any other. I still had the draw of eating at 11000ft, but I may as well have been eating at a fine dining institution at sea-level.
