I guess the new owner bit off more than she can chew with this purchase.... Too bad. it remains to be seen whether they will open again in spring. it's a lovely spot, hard to see it close and to leave the building empty

We stayed here about a year ago and it was simply amazing. The lagoons were picturesque and the resort was in a great area. I have heard of rumours that this resort was going to close down but m not completely sure. The resort was located right near the beach. It was literally just across the street. I will most definitely revisit if its still in operation.

I have to say that I was sorely disappointed when the new owners of the Harbour Inn decided to oust Chef Konstantine from the Inn. Chef and Terry were a fixture in Lagoon City for almost a decade and provide a great fine dinning experience in an otherwise lack luster Inn.

The new owners must have felt that they could easily run a restaurant and duplicate what Konstantine had taken years to created, but unfortunately they are way off the mark. Food , Service and the menu are a lot to be desired.

Maybe the Inn might be better?

As local residents we were excited to hear the Harbour Inn had been recently purchased by someone who was a newcomer in the community. We had been regular customers at Chef Konstantine & the Harbour Inn for many years & were looking forward to continue enjoying the high standard of dining . Unfortunately we have dined at the Harbour Inn twice since its new ownership & we have been sorely, and sickly ,disappointed. The food has
gone down in both price & quality- guess its true you get what you pay for. There is nothing exceptional, or enjoyable about the New Harbour Inn- if you want fine dining in the area you will no longer experience anything close at Harbour Inn. The service is extremely slow and unappologetic and both times we were there we were overcharged and told it was because there was problems with their new billing system.

I will now be driving to one of the fine establishments in Orillia such as Era 67 or 16 Front if I wish to experience a nice evening out. It is a shame as Lagoon City was sorely in need of a good local bistro in the community however the new owners neither have the foresight nor the familiarity of the community to accommodate.
I have also had the opportunity to view the accommodations offered at the Harbour Inn. I can only restate the earlier reviews-
the hotel was a timeshare for
the last 30 years and is desperately in need of a major overhaul as nothing has been updated or changed. Old linens, bed spreads and dated furnishing still abound and I would not recommend this hotel/ restaurant to anyone in its current state. Nor would I return myself. Hopefully the new owners will take some pride in the property and undertake the much needed update and cleaning- until then I could neither recommend this establishment as a place to eat or sleep.

I took over 3 days and 2 nights of a time share and was happy for what I paid for.

I am a single mom of a 3 year old little girl and the close by beach was FANTASTIC! The waters were as shallow as could be for such a long time. Lots of shaded areas and clean water with barely and rocks or zebra muscles!

The resort itself could really be updated. The room had a bit of a smell to it, but otherwise was content with it's amenities.

One complaint that I have, is that the first floor patio that opens out to the back of the resort, is much too easy for a toddler/pre-schooler to escape from, and with the water just a few meters away, a child could easy have a little fall or accident into the water.

Several times, my 3 year old unlatched the patio door and took off outside, as I sit down or step to the kitchen. My heart sank a few times, and it didn't help that the one rope at the waters age was broken, leaving only one rope as a safety (i don't think they are even meant for safety, but regardless, would have been easier for my little one to fill in and through.

It would have been nice for the restaurant to be open for breakfast during the week though, not even sure if it opened on weekends for breakfast. The chef did make an appearance the one night, outside of the restaurant and was quite pleasant with my little girl.

The caesars there are quite tasty :)

This is not the end of all of my stay though, I would definitely come back and was very happy with the friendly, courteous staff.

Loved the pool, hot tub and whirl pool We used the bbq on the top deck, but found the flooring/roofing to be a little uneven and in need of an update/work.

Just had a great time and was very happy to be a guest here :)

Room Tip: Room 101 is noisy as the office is right on the other side of the wall of where the headboard is for...

After looking up a place to stay for a week via RCI exchange, this was one resort that kept popping up, having availability. It has an excellent location on Lake Simcoe and the lagoon with the waterways is amazing, watching the boat and geese work their way to the open water. Beach is pretty cool being able to walk out to what seems like the end of the beach and only be up to your knees. But the resort itself has been neglected and very old. The cleaning is done, but the age shows through all the daily maintenance. The pool area is pretty scary. Just getting there around all the garbage bins is one thing. Getting to the upper deck outside is frightening. The bikes to rent are /rusty and old at best, once you work the cobwebs off and find one with a non-ripped seat or one good tire. The boardwalk and beach grass is full of dog/goose poop, so watch your step. The condos themselves are spacious, but old. Very small kitchen/refrige. Noisy hallways, esp from cleaning staff. The resort has been sold to non RCI investors so it will be removed shortly from the timeshare family. All owners will be paid off and the resort will probably go to public reservations. Overall it has a very nice location, but don't expect too much in luxury. Too bad there wasn't any boat rental businesses around, got quite boring after a few days.

Room Tip: Request a lagoon side room. Otherwise you get the parking lot.
