We stayed at the Danish Villa for 12 nights and were really pleased with our selection. The staff and manager (the owner was not present since he was in Denmark when we were there) were super friendly and helpful. The property and the environment was tidy and peaceful. The rooms were ok and cleaned with dilligence whenever requested (we only asked the rooms to be cleaned a couple of times because of the green reasons). There are occasional power/electricity cut outs in Arugam Bay that last from minutes to couple of hours so I recommend to pack up a flashlight. However the villa has its own generator in case of a power cut out for lightning and essential electricity needs (no A/C though). If you are going surfing most of the breaks require a short tuk tuk ride that can be organized through the villa for a reasonable price. We recommend our tuk tuk driver Asmir who was very friendly, helpful and speaks good english.

The free WIFI is nice to make a few posts to make your friends jeallous.

We stayed Danish Villa, Arugam Bay for 3 nights 4 days. The staff is extremely helpful and welcoming. The property is also quite beautiful and well maintained; however, you need to be prepared for mosquitoes and lizards galore. Apart from this, the property is a little away from the more fun or livelier parts of this little town. You need to walk a short distance in either direction to find a restaurant though the villa does serve tea, coffee, juice or fruits. Overall, we had a decent experience with no major complaints, but nothing worth writing home about either!

Apart from the hotel, the place itself is quite nice. A complete surf town with little less to do. So do give surfing a shot. We had a fun 2-hr session with a local surf instructor. Do not believe online or book reviews that say you have dolphin or whale watching opportunities because you don't!!

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms attached to the living room cause you won't have control over who uses the livin...

Myself and my wife stayed here for eleven nights it is bang in the middle of Arugam bay across the road from the sea. The staff are are very helpful. The rooms are very good value if abit on the small side but sufficient. The breakfast is very poor much better to be had elsewhere I suggest Mambos at the surf point

Our family group of 7 adults visited Danish Villas in March 2012.
We were delighted with the garden setting and accomodation. The rooms were clean and comfortable . The villas are set away from the main road so there is a lot of privacy. The food was good. The Manager Thahir and Night Manager Sufi and all the staff were most friendly and obliging and went out of their way to make us feel at home and provide us with whatever we requested. It was a most relaxing holiday.
We really enjoyed our stay and we have recommended the place to many of our friends and family .

From the moment we were greeted by the manager we knew this was going to be a good one. We choose the garden bungalow which was very comfortable.
Food was excellent, staff very friendly and hotel was kept spotless.
The location is across the road from the beach and very quiet as there is large front garden. Definitely a place to return to as this stay just wasn't long enough.

Room Tip: Go for the garden bungalow if your budget allows
