“Very good!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

Stayed here with my parents and daughter on a 2 week Colorado tour. Perfect location, close to Durango, but not IN Durango. Right next to the Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum (you can walk there and I highly suggest that you do).

Casino/hotel appears like a mirage out of nowhere. The casino itself does smell a bit smoky but this was not noticeable in the room. The room was clean and the bathroom spacious with good shower pressure. I'm not a gambler but had great fun on the slots. My (senior citizen) mom had a great time as they were running senior dinner and gaming specials.

Pool was a bit small. Lazy river a bit small as well. I would have liked to try the bowling alley, looked fun but was closed by the time we were back at the hotel. Recommended without any reservations!

My husband had business in Ignatio, CO, and we debated between Sky Ute Resort vs. Durango (30 miles away) for lodging. We are both glad we stayed at Sky Ute. The location was perfect for our purposes. The hotel is attractive and clean, with fine examples of Ute Indian artwork displayed on the main floor. The Ute theme carries throughout the facility. Staff was very friendly, and we were made to feel welcome. Food was delicious at Seven Rivers, their upscale (a bit pricey) restaurant. Portions were generous, service was exemplary! Although the casino is smoky, they have done a nice job of addressing the smoke. The casino was tolerable (good ventilation system and air freshener), and the smoke smell was not an issue in other areas. The hotel staff bent over backwards to accommodate our requests, including a late checkout and ice for our cooler as we were leaving. We would stay here again without hesitation if business brings us back to Ignatio!

Room Tip: 4th floor is non-smoking and we could not smell smoke in our room or in the hallway.

Saw this place on internet traveling across country & booked a room. Got to the town, Ignacio, what a beautiful area & town. Were greeted by doorman & front desk employees with smiles & helpfulness. Was a standard room but had everything anyone could need, very large, frig., microwave, sink area with faucet, large bathroom and great view. Food was very good & inexpensive. Some of the Las Vegas hotels could take a lesson from this place.

We liked staying here, clean and lots of amenities and things to do in resort. We did well in casino, we will be back in Spring/Summer to either camp in area or stay in resort again. Great front desk staff, eat in Seven Rivers it was very good!

We went to the hotel for a family event in town. The room was adequate with nice blankets. The casino and elevator were quite smokey, but the smoke could not be smelled in the room. We did not have an opportunity to visit the casino but spent some time at the pool with the kids. The pool is beautiful, but for some reason my daughters brand new swimming suit changed colors almost immediately. We visited about a week ago and her hair and body still have a VERY strong chlorine smell. I thought her eyes were red when she got out from rubbing, but maybe it was something else. I am not sure why the smell is still so strong on her body. The shower was small, which made it impossible to shower for a short person because it sprayed and stung me in the neck. The shower was too harsh for the small space and there was no way to adjust it.

Room Tip: Floors 3 and 5 are designated smoking

The room was very nice and clean. The staff was great. No free food. To get to the rooms we had to pass very near the Casino where smoking was king. The elevators smelled of smoke and did the halls. This is why I rated it only a 3. The rooms are smoke free and I never smelled smoke in our room. Our view was good. The pool & hot tub were excellent except for our last day it was cold as was the "hot" tub. I liked having an elevator that we could take from our floor to the pool without having to go through the lobby. The restaurants were not what I would call low cost but there are some coupons and special available that we took advantage of. We were there for a hunting trip not casino. It worked well for us but if you are interested in the tourist places Durango is 30 miles away.

Room Tip: I you stay at a casino be ready for smoke.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Seven Rivers restaurant on New Years Eve 2014. It was absolutely fabulous. It was worth every penny. I highly recommend this restaurant. Our food was delicious. We have eaten at top-end restaurants across the country and we believe Seven Rivers is on par with top restaurants. My husband at a steak and crab legs and I had sea bass.
The service was good. My only criticism was that we barely had our salad and the entrée came. No big deal really, we just kept our salad along with our entrée. After we had already paid, we realized we had not given the wait staff our Bear Card, and it was too late to add this for our points. All small stuff in comparison to how much we enjoyed our dinner and the overall dining experience.
