“Expect a decent place to stay and enjoy the hot springs and you'll be satisfied!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012 via mobile

Clean, cozy rooms that definitely have a lived in feel but the beds were comfy, train woke us up a few times, but not annoying. Receptionist with bright blue eyes and short hair was helpful and nice. Other ones seemed like they could care less to be there. Hot spring pools were AWESOME. Again, a homey feel, lots of variety from the great 'self massage' to the private pools. My favorite was the hot one at the top of the moutain! We tried them all! Free towels w the room. I felt clean in all the pools, you could tell they drained and cleaned them, there was natural algae growth, only to be expected. Go to Glory Hole for breakfast-place is soo yummy.

Go to this place expecting a comfortable place to stay and relax- not really a 'resort' in my mind but a really wonderful stop during our trip!!

If you like nature and camping, you'd love this hot springs. It is very rustic and worn down a bit but if you like soaking in hot springs, this is it. This is not Germany's Baden Baden. There are 24 pools all together and there is one which is close to 112 degrees. For die hard Asians, this probably will be right. For me temperatures between 107 to 109 was great. There were three. The rest of 20 were two lukewarm for us. Rooms are rustic simple so don't expect much. Dining out is difficult and no food available at the so called "resort". I rated very good because there are no other hot springs with temperatures of 112 that I know of in the U.S.

Room Tip: There is no good room

Rude staff, snotty and unhelpful. The private baths are abhorrable - there's no excuse for the old puddles of festering water in the entrance. As another review has said, there is nothing "natural" about it. You can't pay for 1/2 hour either - so we ended up paying $15/person for an hour and only using about 20 mins - and that was just so we could get some of our money's worth. Wish we could have gotten our money back as soon as we stepped in that foul place.

This is a Sulphur Springs and there is a scent with this water. If this is a bother to you then this is not the place for you. Its rustic and a bit worn but I love coming here for the water and the relaxation. This is not an upscale Hilton resort so dont expect it. Usually stay in one of the motel rooms that are always very clean and meets our needs. No coffee maker, no microwave in the room, no hair dryer so bring your own and a cooler full of ice. The bed was super soft and noisy but for one night it was a charmer! Ill be back!
If you have a military ID card they give a military discoutt for entry into the hotsprings but not for the lodging.

Room Tip: Rooms are fairly small.

Me and my husband went for a massage ($75 each) and we thought that the hot sulpher springs were included, but they weren't, they wanted an extra $13 each for us. When we looked at the springs, we declined and just got our massages. The pools didn't look very special and the whole decor was rather depressing. The massages were good, but both my husband and I (who had different massage people) said to each other that they were very chatty during our session. Who talks during a massage? It was a little annoying. Very nice people though. I little pricey for the massage, but we did feel nice and relaxed afterwards!

We just wanted to go to some hot springs for a few hours before a wedding. We paid the $17.50 a person and then went into the area where the springs were. The entire place is little manmade tubs that are disgusting. There was nothing "natural" about this place. The water was filthy and tons of mildew everywhere. The smell was unbearable. I am fairly confident that if I went into the water I would have contracted soom type of disease.

We were inside the complex for 5 minutes and decided that this was not going to work. We went right back to the office and asked for our money back and the lady working there said no. The lady was rude and extremely unprofessional.

I have been to other hot springs like strawberry farms in steamboat and this place is nothing like that. I strongly suggest you stay far away from this place. It was a terrible experience.

Room Tip: Do not stay here! For any reason!

If like ice machine and five star overpriced places-Hot Sulphur is not the place. It hotel is 1960's vintage but it's clean. No A/C but the mountain and canyon air cool down the room. Bring a fan! Nice staff even the maintenance staff. They have courtesy ear plugs--the train horns rattle the room every four to six hours. Ambien would be nice. The bed squeaked but was great and soft. The laundry was very modern and clean.

Room Tip: Get the cabin. It's above the tracks!
