“A haven for weary cyclists”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2010

Stayed two nights while on a cycling weekend with friends. We were all very impressed with the standard of the rooms, and the friendliness of the staff. The quality of the evening meal on both nights was excellent. The only minor niggle, and one on which I agree with other reviewers, is that despite a bit of over-indulgence the night before, we were kicking our heels a bit waiting for Sunday breakfast to start at 9.30. Otherwise a great place to stay.

We arrived in Timble, a quaint village off the beaten track and immediately felt that we were away from the hussle & bussle of our very hectic lives. We had such a warm welcome from the lovely owners Paul & Marie who told us the history of the hotel and how they came to be there. We were shown to our rooms which can only be described as luxurious. The beds, duvets, pillows etc were so comfortable and we had the best nights sleep - often when away from home this can prove difficult. To top all of that the food was excellent too. If you want to get away from it all I would strongly recommend this hotel - thank you Paul & Marie.

I booked the Timble Inn for my husband's birthday party and we had a fantastic time. Everything was excellent. The rooms are all lovely - especailly room 8. The meal was delicious and we had a wonderful time. There were 32 of us for dinner and - judging by the letters we received afterwards - everyone enjoyed it and all of the said they would be going back to the Inn.

We stayed here for one night during a trip around the Yorkshire countryside. We booked direct with the property by telephone during the afternoon preceding our stay. The inn is siruated in what can only be described as idyllic surroundings in a secluded hamlet well off the beaten track. It is extremely well appointed. The property has been totally refurbished and the accommodation was very tastefully decorated and appointed. We had trghe best nights sleep of the trip in a wonderful bedroom with everything carefully chosen. The en suite bathroom even had a heated floor. We ate in the restaurant to a very high standard and the food was reasonably priced. Now the But!!!!!. We booked by telephone and I was very careful to ascertain the tariff. I was advised that the cost would be £49 each B & B. On paying the bill in a very crowded and busy restaurant the night before (more of that in a moment) I was told "We had to put you in a superior room so the cost is now £60 each". I paid because the location was not conducive to having a discussion about the difference, but immediately regretted having done so. By then it was too late. The other But!!!!! When we checked in we enquired about breakfast and were surprised to be told that this would be served from 10.00 am - possibly the latest start time for breakfast ever. We did agree (we had little choice) to make do with juice, preserves and bread which would be left in the bar before our departure at what we thought to be a reasonable 08.30. The breakfast was OK for what it was but there was no suggestion that the bill might be reduced as we would not be having the 'Full Yorkshire'. All in all a pleasant room, a disappointing approach to tariffs and a remarkably late time for breakfast - so beware if you don't want to lie in bed all day. Because of the latter we probably would prefer not to stay again.
