“very happy with it”

We were very happy with the hotel. The rates were very low due to the construction, but the construction was no problem. I wish all my hotels had such a discount when there is construction. The place was clean and much of it looked new inside (60's-style decor, but I think it was brand new decor). The room was clean and big. Desk staff was nice and professional.

“No on-site restaurant”

Doubletree Hotel Denver Tech

Dec 13, 2007

This hotel is being remodeled, but the stay was still pleasant. Although a complimentary breakfast was supposed to be included, the restaurant isn't even open. Hotels.com quickly refunded our money. Their customer service was impecable.

“Don't waste your money”

I thought I'd give it a chance despite the reviews, but don't waste your money.

It's like a ghost town since construction won't be finished for awhile. I'm a woman staying alone and there appears to be no one on my floor in my wing. To top it off the door that is marked as being locked for our safety and only accessible by a room key opens to anyone. The elevator nearest my room stuck at the 3rd floror this morning. The coffee cups in my room were dirty.

And the maids never came to my room today. When I called the front desk to complain about the lack of maid service, she laughed. I've been here one night and not looking forward to the next three. Already cancelled next weeks reservation.

I suspect the good reviews are refering to the Historic Hotel Denver in Glenwood SPRINGS rather than The Hotel Denver Tech Center in Glenwood VILLAGE.

“I wouldn't stay here twice”

Doubletree Hotel Denver Tech

Sep 11, 2007

The new construction is still not finished, but what is done looks horrible. It is terrible decor, nothing matches and it feels like you entered a bad version of the 70's. The rooms are clean, but the beds are old and uncomfortable. The is no phone book in the room, no taxi info, no map, no dining guide, no room service info, no hotel info....NOTHING. There are NO local restaurants within walking distance. The pool is as big as a hotel room (small), the fans in the bathroom do not work. The concierge was an idiot. The fitness center has nice equipment, no complaints there. The hotel is too far from downtown or anything fun. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel for any stay more than 1 day.

“Taking It Inn in the Denver Tech Center”

For the prices they charge, this hotel is less-than-spectacular. Yes, the renovation continues- they are using the atrium area as a modified lobby/front-desk. The exercise area is now complete. Trying to find your way into the atrium/lobby after dark is a challenge as the entrance is on the side of the building; the front is still under major construction. Parking is limited, I saw no sign of bellhops to help with bags.
I travel extensively with a service animal- which is not your average seeing-eye dog. Initially, this hotel gave me a hard time about my companion, until I reminded them about the Americans with Disabilities Act and offered to call the police to verify my right to have my animal. The staff was professional, but a bit cold. I got the feeling that because I was not your average biz traveler, I was somewhat of a bother.
Though the room was nice, there was no mini-fridge, no microwave, no iron or board. The room doors were ridiculously thin/cheap, so that in walking down the halls, you could easily hear everything that was going on in the indiv. rooms. I remember thinking I was glad I was not there with a lover! The hotel DID offer bottled water in the rooms- for 2.50 per 16 oz.bottle. There were no restaurants within walking distance, and the little "Daz Bog" coffee shop (read:Starbucks copy cat) had great coffee items, but expensive and only open until 10am.
Overall, a disappointment. Quoted rate was 115.00 per night, knocked down to 99.99 by a internet travel service. I thought that it would have been better to go to a less expensive place that offers all the goodies in the rooms and complimentary breakfast.
Most of all, I look for warm, genuine, caring staff. For that, I can put up with an awful lot . May your travels be blessed! CC
