“Has Lots of Character”

This Inn is A-Ok. We stayed in room #15 which didn't have a great view but the bed was comfy and the location was great! It is definitely more of a bargain room, not made for luxury. Keep in mind that the Inn is right above the Sagebrush Bar so if there's live music that night, you will hear it, but it only went til 10pm or so. The goods, the friendly & helpful innkeeper Mandy, the location in town, comfy beds, clean, mini-fridge & microwave, pet-friendly rooms, and basic cable. The bads, WiFi didn't work, can be noisy, the shower is pretty terrible, and just needs some overall updating. We'd probably stay here again in town but not for a long length of time.

Room Tip: Look at the pictures of the rooms online first.

I went stayed at the inn with my girlfriend for a romantic getaway during winter break. The town was completely decorated for Christmas and was incredibly romantic! Our room was great and had a brilliant view! The owner of the inn was very nice and the service was great! I would highly recommend this inn to anyone who likes the mountains!

One of the BEST trips we ever took!

Room Tip: The Suites are amazing! Totally worth it.

I've stayed here numerous times and I've always had a good experience. It isn't the most modern of hotels but it has always suited my needs. The hotel is in a great location right on the boardwalk and which allows you to walk to everything in town. The lake and beach are one block away. I've been fortunate as I've always been able to take advantage of the current "special" they have running. Be sure to ask or look for their specials. Another great feature they offer is the ability to check-in prior to your arrival. This will provide you with a key code for your room so there's no need to have to check-in at the front desk. You can simply go to your room when you arrive and get settled in. The suites that face the outside of the hotel are a step up form the interior rooms. If you're looking for a great deal, great location and the basic necessities, this is the place.

Room Tip: Select one of their "suites" that you enter from the outside of the hotel.

We stayed one night on 9/26 in room #7. When we first checked in to the room we both started laughing. It's pretty rustic and, believe me, we are not fussy people by any means. We spent most of our travels camping for many years and this was just a step above that. I told my wife that after 3-4 months living in the mountains, a mountain man would love to spend the night here.
The bed was comfortable, it was in a great location in the center of town so it was fine for a night. I wouldn't want to spend more than 1 night here though. The room was kind of depressing and the bathroom was pretty bad. The tub drain would not stay up on its own and the sink drain had to be flipped up & down by reaching under the sink and moving the lever by hand, it wasn't connected. I have no idea where the office was, they faxed me a code to get into the room prior to our arrival. They room had an ice bucket but I have no idea where you could get any ice. Grand Lake is a great little town but, if we return we'll stay at the Western Riviera. I have no idea how the inside of the rooms there are but the balconies overlook the lake and they have a set of tables & chairs for each room. It's also only a 1/2 block off main street in what is a very small town.

We stayed at the INN at Grand Lake, in Grand Lake, Colorado, on August 9, 2011. We trusted the website as it advertises a nice hotel, but were very disappointed. Mr, Ron Ellis, the owner whom we never met, charged us a premium price, $130.54 for a one-night stay. We were put in room #6. Upon arrival, we found out that there were NO amenities, not even ice, as the office was closed. The room was dark, smelly, and the bathroom had not been remodeled in years. (The stains around base of toilet and in the sink were a give-away and the plunger next to the toilet said it all.) We could not wait to get out of there the next morning. We did not even try using the filthy shower. We have requested a credit voucher for 1/2 of what we paid, and have been totally ignored. This a a terrible way to run a business indeed.

Room Tip: Stay away altogether....

Great location on boardwalk if you want to be close to everything in the little town. Right across from the lake, beach, boat rentals. The room facing the lake (#7) includes a kitchenette with breakfast table, a small bathroom, and a good sized bedroom with a king bed. It was comfortable and quiet (even tho its above the resturaunt and bar; The Sagebrush, which closes at 10pm) The resturaunt's food is western style good. BBQ the best ever. Overall a very good experience in a historic hotel in historic Grand Lake.

Room Tip: Number 7 King room has the only view of the lake....You can sit on the balcony-porch and watch the t...

Better off staying in a tent, its about the same temperature. Expensive. Cold. So noisy we got NO sleep. Will not work with you when you are dissatisfied either.
