“Pleasantly Surprised”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

We ate at this restaurant this past week. We were very happy with our dinner. The restaurant was short handed - there was only one server to take care of everyone at the bar and seated in the restaurant. Hats off to him! Not only did he get the job done but he did it in a friendly manner. My husband had a double burger which was a really good deal - less than $8 including fries and a pickle. He said it was outstanding - they use high-quality beef. I had the fish and chips which was wonderful. Two huge pieces of fish that were dipped in a beer batter and fried. Also very good price - around $11. We shared a piece of homemade cheesecake. I am really picky when it comes to cheesecake. I thought it was great - perfect texture. We will visit again the next time we are in town!

“Friendly atmosphere & great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

We had dinner here while staying in the area. The server was very friendly and attentive although extremely busy!! We had the steak & cheese sandwich and it was one of, if not the best sandwich of that type I have ever had. We will definitely stop at the Roadhouse on our next trip to Grand Lake!!

“Overpriced Prime Rib on Saturday Night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

The Roadhouse is into the second year of new management and promotes prime rib as a Saturday night dinner special. Prime rib had been an exceptional treat with the previous owner and we were looking forward to it, as their burgers and reubens are quite good. The meal was OK, however, the biggest surprise was the extra charge of $3.50 for a dinner salad, which brought the cost to over $28 for one meal before the tip! Any other places we've been to except maybe some of the really high end a la carte steak places include a basic salad with dinner. The Roadhouse is actually more of a bar than a grill and given the atmosphere, service and value is way overpriced if you go for the prime rib on Saturday night. Our advice if you go there: Stick to sandwiches & forget the prime rib.
