We were dissapointed with this house. It is advertised as a 4BR place, but in reality there is 1 large master bedroom, one small loft room, one loft space with no doors and a communal room which sleeps 12. In order to get to the bathroom, everyone must walk through the large bedroom. Both loft rooms are in the eves and if you are taller than 5'4'', you will have problems getting in and out of bed. We were forced to sleep on a matress on the floor.
Given the fact that the house is advertised as sleeping 18, the living accomodation is woefully small. The living room has 1 sofa which seats 3, and 1 rocking chair. The advertised big-screen TV is 30 years old and does not work. The advertised pool table is 2' x 3'. The mini coffee pot makes about 2.5 cups at a time, so be prepared to make loads. The bathrooms were not clean. There is so much furniture stuffed around the place, that is is difficult not to bump into things when walking around.
We did enjoy the scenery, hikes and wildlife viewings during our family holiday, however, will definately not be returning to Lake Forrest Lodge. This would suit you if you want to crash as many people as possible in one house, but not if you like to close your bedroom door at night. Also, I would recommend you take date-stamped photos of the place as you leave, in order to ensur you get your deposit back.
