“The smell is different on a room basis”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

Smells of old and mold. Rooms are very outdated. We had to ask for a room change as the smell was very strong. Doors to the patio are cracked, and overall looks like someone went to a thrift shop to furnish the rooms. For the price I paid I should have paid a bit more and gotten a nice room.

Room Tip: Pay a bit more and go to a different hotel ... unless you like to old feel of the hotel.

The girl the front desk was nice. From the outside it looked good. Big and regal. Must have something when it was new. But our room wasn't clean. The door was cracked and it looked like it had been pryed open before. That scared the GF. The bright green toilet and tub screamed we need changing. The broken, falling plaster was everywhere. It could be restored to its royal state and should be. Fix it up or tear it down but don't expose paying people to this bed-bug, hell hole.

Won't be staying here again. Also won't recommend it to anyone. Although the front desk people were very good, this hotel needed some serious fixing up. No chain on the door. That made me nervous. We ended up jamming a chair under the door knob to help keep us safe. Luckily nothing ever happened. Bathroom was pretty clean but green fixtures (really green!) in bathroom. One plus was that there was 2 little separate sinks in bathroom area so 2 could be getting ready at same time. Water pressure & temps were awful-kept changing temp at any given second. You would be scalded if you wasn't careful. The bathtub handles would actually move by themselves!! Perhaps place was haunted :) ..

This was my family's first and last stay at Country Inn in Grand Junction. Positive: water pressure was bonus just because it hasn't been upgraded to the conserve water. Negatives: door was stuck, climbed through window, no screens, door was cracked with daylight peeping through, no security chain, key entry with room number on it, mold in shower, no sink stoppers, bathroom fan switch template hanging off wall, table top wobbled seemed to want to fall off leg, warped bathroom door, view of dumpsters, no continnetal breakfast because they don't put out food unless you "ask", floaters in juice that was watered down, hidden dump, and WAY OVER PRICED!!!

Room Tip: don't stay here

We stayed here as it was the host hotel for a race. Within 30 min or so of being at the pool we found our room was robbed of about $350 in cash. We had towels delivered to the room right before we went to the pool, went to the pool for 30-45 min returned to the room to find two of our wallets had been emptied of the cash we brought for the race. Is it a coincidence that the head housekeeper who brought the towels had just seen my wallet lying on the table? Is it a coincidence she is on parole? We are normally careful not to ever leave anything of value out but we were in a hurry. When we reported the issue the owners and managers were not apologetic but purely defensive, they didn’t even offer to comp the room. On top of all of this, the beds were hard as rocks, the AC didn’t work, and the carpet was so dirty that your feet looked like you walked across the blacktop parking lot. This hotel currently uses old school metal keys which at first I thought were pretty cool but now I realize that makes it untraceable as to who enters your room. While I am sure it is incredibly difficult to turn a troubled hotel around in the 1.5 years they have owned it I felt like they were accusing me of trying to scam them and didn’t care if I got robbed as long as it wasn’t proven to be their fault. This hotel is owned by Dave and Laura Lehmann who also own the Ramada in Grand Junction.

Saying that this hotel was disgusting would be generous. The stains on the bed were gross, the carpet looked like it may have been vacuumed in 1955. The linens would of poor quality. These were the good aspects of the room. The bathroom was even worse. There was plaster falling off the ceiling. Mold was everywhere. There was a VERY suspicious dark stain on the ceiling above the toilet. We were on the first floor so, imagine where the stain came from.
I would never stay here again, even if they paid me.
Horrible experience.
