We stayed here during the week between Christmas and New Years; it was a somewhat last minute decision, since we did not want to get stuck on icy roads/traffic on I-70, so decided to stay here and wait for better weather then next day. We picked La Quinta after having a good experience at another La Quinta during this road trip. This hotel is conveniently located/easy to get to, right off of I-70. The front desk staff were very accomodating; we desperately needed a good night sleep, and he allowed us to change rooms when we saw that our initial room was by an elevator. The room we ended up staying in was on the first floor, facing north, away from the highway - the front desk person recommended it, and he was right - very quiet, and easy to take our dogs out. This hotel is very pet-friendly, and they do not charge a pet fee! Our room was very spacious, considering that it was not a suite. There is a large desk with a large rounded end that makes it easy to use as an eating table for two people. No couch, but the room is big and has a large recliner chair. The layout is cool - there is a built-in that is around the corner from the sleeping area that has a refrigerator, a microwave, and a cool little ledge to keep stuff like room keys, etc. The bathroom is a little more spacious than most, with a wrap around counter and mirror that make it easier for two people to get ready in the morning. It looks like some of the room was remodeled more recently (beds, carpet, desk nice flat screen tv), but other parts (bathroom counter and floor, cabinets) look a little more dated. The room was very quiet, although the hotel was not that full the night we were there, so it's hard to know if this is how it always is. The room was cleaned to my standards (which are pretty picky). The breakfast room and breakfast choices were good. There is a great Italian restaurant with take-out , just steps from the hotel, called Enzos. Overall, a good value for the price, and we will definitely stay here again on future road trips.
