“Average food, average service.”

Food is okay. New building has no personality. Love the Pollo Caldo though.

“Boring food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2012

This used to be a barely ok restaurant and we went there for the bean tostadas. They were pretty good, but the rest of the food was low quality and dull. Then they tore and down and built a new one. We tried it a year ago and the food was about the same and the service was terrible. We gave it another chance this month and the food was boring (no spices, cheap cheese, dull salsa, chips were cheap). This is not actually a Mexican restaurant, but one serving something that someone thinks Americans like. The bean tostadas were ok, but everything seemed like it came out of a can. The waiter could not speak English very well and I wondered what I would get, but he did get it right after some difficulty communicating with him. Grand Junction is not noted for restaurant quality, but this one is below even that city's standards. Back to El Tapatio next time.
