“Going downhill”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

the facility is getting older and the maid service is not cleaning the common areas very well- particularly the single elevator. In addition a parking fee has been added which is ridiculous in a small town like Grand Junction. will think twice before staying there again. Had been a regular visitor when in town.

Everything was very good except the breakfast and the person preparing it. In fact when I saw the way she was dressed I wasn't sure if I wanted to eat breakfast anyway. Breakfast should have been at 6 am but only some of it was ready, in fact the scramble eggs did not appear until 6:30 and I heard the receptionist telling the breakfast cook to calm down. I would stay there again but not sure about breakfast. This is not normal for this hotel, I have had many stays here wher the breakfast and cook was excellent.

Don't get me wrong. I love dogs. I just don't want to sleep with them. Imagine my surprise when this hotel started allowing them in! (First encounter was a pair entering elevator on the third floor!) The front desk told me that this dog policy was begun this past June. When I asked on what floors the dogs were allowed, they responded, "We can't control where they stay". Seriously? I've never been to a dog hotel when dogs are given free rein. Uusallly they're sequestered on first or second floors. What a shame.

Room Tip: Upstairs room always smells of smoke, even though it's a non-smoking facility. I don't get...

Thank you for taking the time to write a Trip Advisor review. Our hotel has indeed started allowing pets. We restrict pets to the second floor, however service animals are welcome through out the hotel. As always we thoroughly clean and inspect our rooms between guests.

We apologize for an inconvenience this change in policy may cause you.

This hotel is great, it is walking distance to local restaurants and close driving distance to everything in town. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel is newly remodeled. I stay here everytime I am in town.

Old Hampton Inn right downtown Grand Junction. Had to pay $5 for parking in the hotel parking lot and there's no refrigerator or microwave in the room. Adequate Hampton Inn but lacks the updates of the more modern ones.

I love Hampton's and this was a treat for sure!!! Tucked away in a small building on Main Street among all the fabulous shops and restaurants of downtown Grand Junction was a blast. As always the stay is wonderful, great night sleep, clean, comfortable and friendly staff. This will be my hotel from now on in Grand Junction.

This is one of the best Hamptons we have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. Brandy at the reception desk was warm, friendly and efficient. She gave us excellent advice on restaurants in the area. Our room was spacious and comfortable -- especially the bed which was just superb! The bathroom was also clean and roomy; the only criticism I have is that the bath towels are small and thin. The complimentary internet was fast and reliable, and we appreciated the covered parking -- I don't think $5 was an unreasonable charge. Breakfast was adequate for our needs, not gourmet but plentiful and nicely displayed. And just to mention a lovely touch -- about 10 minutes after checking us in, Brandy called up to find out if everything was OK. Great service!
