Nine business associates, who are not a picky group food-wise, ate here mid-evening. Our waitress, when asked if they had Chianti, asked if that was a beer. The "special of the day," "tri-tips" something (a beef special) was ordered by one diner. When asked for his preference, he said "rare." The waitress returned later to say the meat had been cooked THAT MORNING and that medium to well done was all they had. The "special" beef dish had been cooked that morning! When it arrived, the beef was fresher than the gravy, which lay on the mashed potatoes like a piece of cloth.
The saving grace for this place (and the only thing that keeps this review from being an "average" rather than a "poor" is that the quesadilla one person had was excellent, the mac and cheese was o.k. and the salads were o.k.
We did not dine particularly late (gone well before 9:00) and I think they were ready for us to leave. All the chairs were turned upside-down on the tables around us. Always a nice welcoming and attentive touch. We felt so special.
