This hotel made a good base to explore Golden, Boulder, Central City Opera and Denver itself.

The inclusive breakfast; free delivered newspapers; in-room internet access; and complimentary use of the business centre at the adjacent Courtyard hotel gave the impression of hotel management trying to do that bit extra. Did I mention the bag of free popcorn in the room? The management is efficient and friendly.

Small quibbles....the breakfast coffee machine was very erratic; and the hotel only has a small outside seating area with no view of the mountains, or anything else!
Not things that would deter me from staying here again.

My family just returned from a vacation in Colorado. We visited several locations in the central region, including Denver. We based our visit to the Denver area in Golden, staying three nights at the Residence Inn - Denver West.

Our stay at the hotel could not have been better. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We reserved a two bedroom suite, which we found clean and very comfortable.

The hotel offers a free breakfast and a "happy hour" daily. We ate breakfast twice during our stay and were pleasantly surprised at the quality and amount of food. Breakfast included coffee, tea, juice, and milk along with scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, waffles, various breads and pastries, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal and cereal. My family normally prefers breakfast in a restaurant but was perfectly content eating at the hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located for quick access to Golden, Denver and Boulder. Both Denver and Boulder are approximately a 30-minute drive away. It is located just off a major east-west highway (Hwy 6) and is conveniently located near I-70 and not far from 470 as well. The hotel is a short drive from the Colorado Mills mall as well as several major chain and local restaurants. Although the shopping center is not within walking distance, we still found ourselves making several visits to it.

We also found the nearby street, Colfax street (at Colorado Mills), to be a major east-west thoroughfare running right to the downtown Denver area. It proved to be a useful way to enter and exit the city given the traffic congestion at times on I-70 and I-25. Colfax street also contains plenty of restaurants, gas stations and shopping centers.

I highly recommend this hotel for its location and high quality to anyone spending extended time in the Denver area.

RECOMMENDED. A typical Residence Inn, good condition and repair. Rooms large and offer small kitchen and living area. Bathrooms acceptable. Staff throughout the stay were accomodating and excellent in terms of service and desire to ensure you have a good stay. Courtyard property is next door. Area mall is a short drive away (not walking though).

The Residence Inn is in a good location, just off I 70, about 10 minutes from Golden town centre, and half an hour from downtown Denver.

The room we had (a corner suite) was very spacious, with a comfortable king sized bed and sofa bed, plus the rollaway we had requested. The kitchen area had everything you could need - oven, microwave and a dishwasher. The bathroom was nice and clean - we had absolutely nothing bad to say about the room.

The breakfast which was included in the rate was unbelievably good, with cereals, pastries, fruit, yoghurts, as well as a choice of hot food - sausages, potatoes, scrambled eggs. There is also a "reception" every evening where they cook food - when we were there, baked potatoes were on offer one night, and another, there was a barbecue. They even give you beer or wine, as well as soft drinks! For the rate we paid ($129 a night), we thought it was really good value.

The kids enjoyed the indoor pool, even though the water was not terribly warm! The little basketball court outside was well used by us as well.

It was a great start to our holiday to stay there - we would definitely go back there if we are lucky enough to be visiting Colorado again.
