“Good Choice!”

Residence Inn Denver West/Golden

My parents and I stayed three nights at the Residence Inn in Golden, Colorado over the New Year's Eve holiday. I chose this hotel because of the location (near Colorado Mills Mall, U.S. 6, and Interstate 70), along with the positive reviews that I'd read online, and the type of accomodations that they offered. And, I'm happy to say that I was NOT disappointed!

Our One Bedroom Suite consisted of a full kitchen (dishwasher, stove, microwave, frig, coffee maker, glasses, plates, silverware, pans, etc), living room area (chair w/ foot-rest, couch/sofabed, TV, small dresser), office desk and chair, and bedroom with a bed, TV, dresser, and bathroom). The room was both comfortable and clean.

The hotel also had a complimentary breakfast buffet in the mornings (eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, toast, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee, etc). Go early if you can --- Some of the items seem to disappear pretty quickly and it can take a little while for them to bring out more.

There's also a computer with a printer in the lobby that you can use free of charge to check-in for your flight, do online searches, find directions, etc. This was definitely a nice-to-have!!

The only negatives that I can think to mention really are that house-keeping came by to clean my room a little later than expected (around 4 - 5pm) and the extra blanket in my room (for use with the sofabed) was chock full of static; I couldn't move without seeing and hearing the flicker of light, although it never actually shocked me. A little strange, but not a big deal.

The hotel was in a good location and my room was large, clean, & comfortable --- I would not hesitate to stay here again!!

    • Disliked — Nothing --- The rooms, the location, and the price were all great!

Room was a one bedroom suite. Kitchen had dinnerware for 2 people. Plastic spoons, forks. Real knives. Couldn't figure out the logic in that. Popcorn. Salt, pepper shakers. Room service didn't show up the first two days. Even called the front desk early morning the 2nd day to verify they'd be there. Front desk said yes. They didn't show. When they did show, job was adequate. Did leave splash of coffee on the coffee colored countertop that never got cleaned up though. Breakfast comes with room. Lots of kids in the breakfast area. Oatmeal, eggs, waffles, yogurt offered. Bed comfortable. Sofa comfortable. Reclining chair not comfortable. Not worth website rate of $159/night. Worth about $99 night max.

“Best Marriott property i have ever stayed at”

Every time I stay at a Marriott brand property I am satisfied, but never enough to say "I can't wait to go back." This Residence Inn is the first Marriott property I would like to go to. It is conveniently located near the Colorado Mills shopping area; clean, spacious room and most important, great employees and managers - they truly made my long term stay enjoyable. All the complimentary ammenities are there: great breakfast; adequate evening appetizer food and drinks, wired and wireless internet pool. The workout room was very disappointing, but hey hook you up with a complimentary membership to a superb gym a just mile down the road called the Pointe.

I think this is the best value in the Golden/Denver West area.

This hotel made a good base to explore Golden, Boulder, Central City Opera and Denver itself.

The inclusive breakfast; free delivered newspapers; in-room internet access; and complimentary use of the business centre at the adjacent Courtyard hotel gave the impression of hotel management trying to do that bit extra. Did I mention the bag of free popcorn in the room? The management is efficient and friendly.

Small quibbles....the breakfast coffee machine was very erratic; and the hotel only has a small outside seating area with no view of the mountains, or anything else!
Not things that would deter me from staying here again.

My wife and I enjoyed our 4 day stay very much.

My family just returned from a vacation in Colorado. We visited several locations in the central region, including Denver. We based our visit to the Denver area in Golden, staying three nights at the Residence Inn - Denver West.

Our stay at the hotel could not have been better. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We reserved a two bedroom suite, which we found clean and very comfortable.

The hotel offers a free breakfast and a "happy hour" daily. We ate breakfast twice during our stay and were pleasantly surprised at the quality and amount of food. Breakfast included coffee, tea, juice, and milk along with scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, waffles, various breads and pastries, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal and cereal. My family normally prefers breakfast in a restaurant but was perfectly content eating at the hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located for quick access to Golden, Denver and Boulder. Both Denver and Boulder are approximately a 30-minute drive away. It is located just off a major east-west highway (Hwy 6) and is conveniently located near I-70 and not far from 470 as well. The hotel is a short drive from the Colorado Mills mall as well as several major chain and local restaurants. Although the shopping center is not within walking distance, we still found ourselves making several visits to it.

We also found the nearby street, Colfax street (at Colorado Mills), to be a major east-west thoroughfare running right to the downtown Denver area. It proved to be a useful way to enter and exit the city given the traffic congestion at times on I-70 and I-25. Colfax street also contains plenty of restaurants, gas stations and shopping centers.

I highly recommend this hotel for its location and high quality to anyone spending extended time in the Denver area.
