“Great value if you use the pool and go to the breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

Our room was very clean and quite nice, and there was a full pull-out couch for our 3-year old to sleep on. We all LOVED the pool - it's huge with really cool stonework, and everything was so clean, including the changing areas. Included with the price of the hotel were passes to allow our small family to enjoy the pool when we arrived and the following day, even after checkout, and the free breakfast was very, very good (my son loved the made to order pancakes). Glenwood Springs is a very walkable city with lots of attractions, and we could have happily stayed in the area for days!

Wonderful time in Glenwood. We also stay at the Italian underground and had a great meal. The pool was great and my sister and I really enjoyed the strawberry days fashion show with all the beautiful contestants.

We booked last minute and the Mesa Queen room on the 5th floor exceeded my expectations. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble including providing my desperate 9yr old with change for the vending machine. Breakfast was incredible and the pool amazing. Even recommended restaurants for us during our stay.

Room Tip: Floor Five - room 549 classed as a diagonal - beautiful view of the mountains and a wonderful peacef...

Green Features: Fantastic idea and I was delighted to learn about it on arrival - they should really do more to emphasize it.

Glenwood Springs' top attraction is the Hot Springs Pool. The Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge does a great job combining the top attraction with a very comfortable stay and good, friendly service.

Breakfast is included with your room, as it is with so many hotels. This breakfast is served across the street at the Hot Springs Grill! Not only is there the customary corner with cereal, juice, milk, coffee and the assortment of sweet carbs, you get to order your hot breakfast at the counter. Omelets, eggs, hash browns... There is also a selected hot dish warming in the breakfast corner. Our first morning there, it was biscuits and gravy. The second, it was breakfast burritos with green chili!

The other inclusion with your room, is a pass each day to the hot springs. So if you are planning on visiting Glenwood Springs for the main attraction, this is perfect. The Hot Springs Pool is located just across the street from the lodge. Very convenient! Entry is by a pass and you can come and go as you wish all day. Just get your hand stamp as you leave.

The rooms are comfortable and clean. I was visiting with a group of 7 women. We had a suite and there was plenty of room for us. One nice feature was the way the bathroom area was laid out. There was the room with the toilet, tub/shower and sink and just outside the bathroom was another sink area. Plenty of room for all. There was a refrigerator and a safe in the room. A couple other really special touches were, LED reading lights built into the headboards, a collection of outlets (6 in all--enough for all the electronics and chargers) built into the cabinet that houses, the TV, fridge and safe and a balcony that overlooks the pool with drying racks included!

I will be staying at the Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge again! I recommend that you do to!

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the pool and the valley - Especially if you are only going to visit once.

I think your experience staying at the Hot Springs Lodge will depend on how much time you plan on spending at the pool and how important convenience is to your family.

The Lodge is located directly across the street from the pool (a 3 minute walk from the front door of the lodge to the front door of the pool). It is pretty much the closest lodging to the pool (although Hotel Colorado is right next to it, so it is pretty darn close too). This is a huge plus is you have children who aren’t about to walk a mile to the pool! It also is great because they include free passes for all the members of your party staying in your room for everyday you are at the lodge (we checked in Friday and checked out Monday and got passes all three days). In the peak summer time this equates to about $20 per adult/teen – which if you are like us and went to the pool multiple days and have 3 people, it can really add up. It also includes a breakfast at the grill (at the pool, so you will have to cross the street). The breakfast is pastries, cereals, fruit and grill items like pancakes and omelets. It ends up being a pretty good deal, although it does translate in to higher hotel prices.

The room itself was very modern and clean, but also pretty small. The TV was a big flat screen, the bedding was very comfy, the bathroom was nice sized and the room included a micro, mini fridge, coffee machine and a table and chairs both inside the room and on the balcony. However, all of this is very tightly squeezed into the room. For instance, the beds are separated by one nightstand and each bed had a side that basically was against a wall (you could slip out, but it was tight). For our family of 3, it was a little confining, but we didn’t spend that much time in the room so it worked for us.

I personally found the added benefits of the pool passes and the breakfast to offset the higher rates. I also loved the convenience. Plus it is also close to the pedestrian bridge that connects to downtown. I would stay here again!

Room Tip: South facing rooms will give you a view of the pool.

We visited the hot springs on our way back from a summer trip to Aspen after recommendations from friends.Very nice scenery. It was like a spa for me and a water park for the kids. Very good time for the family. Definitely relaxing for me and the kids had a blast. Everyone wins!

The hotel staff is friendly & helpful. My well traveled husband complimented the breakfast saying "it was one of the best offerings of variety he has come across." My 5, 11 & 14 year old kids enjoyed the pool and will never forget the brief smell of sulphur, a good learning moment. The city offers so much to do! Each day of our 5 day trip was full of activity.
