“Excellent family getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

In preparation for deployment I decided to get away for a mini-vacation to Glenwood Springs. The amenities are what sold me for this location. Free Wi-Fi, continental breakfast, parking, unlimited entry to the Hot Springs pool. The room was spacious, beds were comfy, view of the springs was okay from our location. The town has many restaurants within walking distance which is nice if you want to have a drink or two. Everyone was friendly. I enjoyed time here with my son, mother, boyfriend very much! We took a quick trip to Aspen, Vail, and just enjoyed the area. It is probably nicer in summer months due to some parts of the springs are being closed for winter. Overall, i would easily recommend this location especially for couples. Disappointed that my 11 year old was not allowed in the Athletic Club which basically kept us completely out.

“a great soak”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

we stopped at the glenwood hot springs lodge on our way through glenwood springs to denver. it is spectacular. the hotel is a historic property that is fastidiously maintained. the hot springs were great and i loved that they could accommodate so many people. it was very international feeling. i would completely recommend stopping and enjoying the hot springs. and don't forget about the vapor caves. i did not get to visit them but everyone that i know who has gone inside says they are amazing. i am definitely going back and doing the hot springs again, the vapor caves, and staying at the lodge. the staff was helpful and courteous as well. i highly recommend visiting the glenwood hot springs lodge.

“Perfect weekend getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

We have traveled to Glenwood Springs several times via Amtrak and have stayed at the 3 major hotels: The Hotel Colorado, The Hotel Denver and now The Hot Springs Lodge. The Hot Springs Lodge was by far, the best value for the $$ and the best experience in Glenwood. We arrived via train, there was a complimentary shuttle to the Lodge (we were sure we'd have to walk) with a very helpful driver. We arrived at 1pm-ish and I knew that the Lodge has a later check-in of 4pm. We were fully prepared to leave our bags with hotel staff and head to the pool - in fact, I'd packed our swim stuff separate just for that reason. However, Jill, the front desk staff member checked us right in! She was amazingly pleasant, kind, and friendly. She even had a special treat sent up for our 7 year old daughter. We went up to our small but well-suited room, unpacked and headed to the pool. Some commenters have said that it's a LONG walk to the pool but they are mistaken. Maybe a few minutes out the hotel lobby, across this little road, down some steps and around to the front of the pool entrance. No sweat. The unlimited access to the pool was a perfect perk for our stay with our two little girls! Came back to the hotel after dinner, lounged in the VERY comfortable beds and watched TV on the HUGE flatscreen. Perfectly quiet room on the east side of the 3rd floor. The breakfast the next day (served across the street at the pool Grill) was made-to-order omelets, pancakes and hashbrowns -YUM! My husband chose a few items from the continental breakfast side and a breakfast burrito with green chili. The girls had plenty of fun, yummy choices - everyone was pleased! Back to the Lodge to change into swim gear - more pool passes awaited us. I had gotten an email that our train to return to Denver was delayed and Jill at the front desk told me she'd keep an eye on it. We swam, ate lunch (more wonderful food at The Grill) and turns out, needed family to come from Denver to get us since the train was delayed over 5 hours. It was not a problem at the Lodge however, for them to hold our belongings until we departed. This lodge is affordable, clean, well-kept with modest furnishings, comfortable beds, and a staff that makes you feel like family. We now know that every time we return to Glenwood - it will be The Lodge for us. With the amazing staff, great rooms, good food, unlimited swimming and complimentary FULL breakfast, it is an amazing value for the $$ and outweighs their competition by FAR. We'll be back for sure - and soon!

“What a great stay and bargain!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

My husband and I recently stayed here on a Thursday night, we got the AAA rate and paid $148 including taxes. We arrived right at 4:00 and were able to check in right away and were in the Hot Springs Pool in about 15 minutes. You can't beat this place for location to the pool - admission to the pool - in and out - is included on all days of your stay. We used the pool on our check in and check out days, so doing the math, that's a great deal. Breakfast was included as well and was great - it's at the grill by the pool and has a hot and cold bar - the cold bar has standard continental breakfast fare - fruit, cold cereals, oatmeal, bagels, pastries, toast. An assortment of juices, milk, chocolate milk, hot chocolate and coffee. The hot area has made to order omelettes, eggs, toast, pancakes and a daily special. The food and service was great. So nice to be able to park our car at check in and walk to everything. The hotel is beautiful - I guess recently renovated. Our room - 2 queen bed north side was great - very, very clean, lovely furnishings and decor, comfy beds, very nice toiletries, tons of towels and a huge TV. A very thoughtfully put together dresser with a hidden fridge, microwave and safe. Also a little drawer that pulls out to make coffee. Only bummer is the brand new, white blouse I left behind on the bed when we checked out - it must have blended in with the white sheets and I missed it. I'm working with housekeeping to try to find it. Front desk service was very friendly and helfpul. We would definitely stay here again!

“above and beyond”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

It is not the Plaza in New-York. Nor does it pretend to be. It's a good, solid, clean, newly re-furbished hotel were the staff is friendly and welcoming and rates will not drive you to drink. Fine rooms with balconies overlooking this beautiful valley in the heart of western Colorado. The Glenwood hot sprins, legendary, immense and simply an experience that one should not miss is across the street.
I have lost belongings, important files in many up-scale hotels. This is not the place to share some of my horror stories at the Fairmont Savoy in London or the Copley Plaza in Boston.
I forgot a small but important item at the Lodge. I did not have to call them: they called me. This does not happen in real life but it did happen in this case.
The Lodge went into the trouble to pack it and send it to me 1000 mile away.
Now, that is what i call going above and beyond the call of duty.
Impressive!
