“What a Great Family Deal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2012

We come to stay at the Lodge every year or so. As always, our recent trip to the pool and Lodge was wonderful! We came home relaxed if not a bit sunburned from all the hours at the pool. We love the location in proximity to downtown Glenwwood and ease of access to I-70 and recreation. Love, love, love the new FULL breakfast options. We really enjoy the "inclusive package" that staying at the Lodge provides for our family vacation budget. What a deal!

Bottom Line:

Professional Staff.
Affordable Luxury.
Recreation for the Whole Family!

Room Tip: The views from the Lodge are not spectacular. Northside looks into parking lot and hillside. Southsi...

It was wonderful. Just beware that the slides aren't always open. The pool was huge and wonderful. And great parking area that is free and easy access. Plus the locker rooms have swimsuit dryers. Nice feature.

We really enjoyed our overnight at the Hot Springs Lodge. The room was delightful (Small Deluxe Room, two Queen beds, balcony, facing south) and very comfortable and accommodating. The room was very quiet with absolutely no outside noise (freeway, train, etc.) when the balcony door was closed. We had no complaints and would definitely stay here again. I really appreciated the free covered parking for my two motorcycles, just off the back of the lobby. My only observations: The beds were softer than I prefer, and the towels weren't quite as fluffy as I have found in more expensive hotels, but overall this was a great value and very nice. The proximity to the pool, which is just across the street and down a short flight of stairs, is perfect. Other reviewers have complained that "it's 1/4 mile away," which is ridiculous. It's just across the street. And having to walk down to the pool for breakfast is no big deal, though it would have been nice if there was coffee in the hotel lobby. Anyway, this was a great stay and I'm sure we'll return!

We try to come here once a year usually in Sept. but had family in town in May this year and wanted them to experience Glenwood Springs. We always have a great time walking the main street and all the cute little shops. In Sept. they have a farmers market going on so enjoy that. We love the lodge and its location just right across the street so not getting in and out of the car when we want to head to the pool. Can't really suggest an eatting place haven't found one that we're really crazy about yet and we've been going there for about 5 years. We love everything about coming here and would suggest it to anyone that just wants to have a relaxing stay and not expect to much to do. My husband loved hanging lake, just be in for a long hike up and be in shape.

Room Tip: We've had single rooms with 2 queen beds and that was great, this trip we went with my parents s...

The staff was very friendly. Most especially, the maintenance guy who locked up our bikes for us. Everyone seems to be on their game here. I loved the balcony we asked for and were given the top spot at no extra charge. This was a GREAT deal with getting our pool passes and breakfast. I normally only stay in Hilton hotels, but I would come back here. The room and staff made this a great experience. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here and look forward to coming back.

Room Tip: South side balcony rooms have a view to die for.

We paid the premium to stay here based on recent tripadvisor reviews. Having stayed in several of the other places around town, I was expecting a step up in quality. I found this to be a rather average property with a good (not great) proximity to the pool.

The lodge is actually up the hill from the pool and spa (next to the historic Hotel Colorado). I was kind of expecting the lodge to be physically connected to the pool, this was a misunderstanding on my part. It is still one of the two hotels closest to the pool. Got the upgraded room with a southern view and balcony with a nice view of the pool and the river and the valley (and the highway). Hotel was a reasonable, 10 minute, walk from the train station. It is also a 10 or 15 minute walk to the dining or shopping areas of Glenwood.

Good points - recently renovated, clean rooms, pool access and breakfast and internet is included in the room cost, friendly staff, comfortable beds, microwave and fridge in the room.

Not so good points - have to walk across the street and down 20 or 30 stairs and around to the other side of the pool (maybe 1/4 mile total) to enter the pool or the spa or the breakfast area. South side rooms are noisy (trains, highway, power washing the pool deck at 2am), long line at check-in moved so slowly, room was not available so more waiting

Room Tip: The cheaper (north side) rooms are actually quieter since they face away from the highway and the tr...
