“We'll be back...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

We were in town for a weekend get-away to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel is lovely and the location is ideal for enjoying this lovely town and all it has to offer. The front desk staff is, as previous reviews noted, EXCELLENT. Loved getting the $5 "green bucks" to spend at the attached brewery (Glenwood Canyon Brewing Co.) just for by-passing maid service.

We took advantage of the walking distance to many great restaurants (Italian Underground has a meatball appetizer to die for), Bluebird Cafe (took a bacon breakfast burrito to-go for our golf outing - DELISH!), Riviera, Sacred Grounds) and bars (the mexican restaurant on Grand is non-descript -- I can't remember the name -- but the margaritas that the owners Freddy and Franciso make are to die for with fresh squeezed lime), the Loyal Brothers (opposite of Hooters and Twin Peaks and Tilted Kilt, this establishment is run by a group of seriously adorable young men who make the predominantly female crowd feel welcome -- there was a bachelorette party and a woman's 27th birthday party), Springs, and Doc Hollidays. These last two are side-by-side, owned and run by the same people, and the staff is the same. These are some of the nicest bartenders we have had the pleasure to patronize, the atmosphere is fun -- even for our 50-something selves.

Golf at Lakota Canyon Ranch was wonderful -- and the whole weekend was a tremendous success. We WILL be back.

Clean, comfortable, spacious with a very nice decor ... decorated more like a B&B than your standard hotel. Nice location right in the heart of the scenic part of town... close to some great dining, and a short, scenic walk over to the hot springs pool, or various concessions for bike rentals, White water rafting etc.

The hotel is located just across from the railway station making it an ideal choice for people getting off the California Zephyr as we were. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was well presented, cool and of a good size. The hotel has plenty of character and we'd definitely go back.

We loved this hotel! Room 301 was spacious and beautiful. The ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful and very sweet. We were within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. We will stay here again!

We just wanted a two night stopover (June 8-10) on our tour of Colorado, and Hotel Denver was definitely the right choice for us!

We drove from Rocky Mountain National Park, via the brilliant Trail Ridge Road, and on Interstate 70 we were amazed by the incredible Glenwod Canyon. Arriving in Glenwood Springs was a little confusing because of the one way system but the hotel's instructions were accurate and, like other reviewers, we were not particularly inspired by the outside of the hotel.

However, reception staff were all delightful and could not have been more pleasant or helpful and our corner Denver room was very light and airy and furnished with antiques.

No breakfast is served in the hotel, which I feel is a little unusual for a hotel of this size, but there are several excellent cafes very nearby. But this may be a drawback if you want an early start. The brewpub downstairs serves excellent beer and the food and atmosphere are good there too.

Glenwood Springs is a delightful little town, much quieter than nearby Aspen but, in my opinion all the better for that (although Aspen is well worth a visit even in Summer). We really enjoyed our stay, the hotel is in town and close to all the lovely restaurants and much better situated than Hotel Colorado or any of the motels on the other side of the interstate.

Would definitely recommend!

Spent two nights at the Hotel Denver. What a "cute" hotel. The halls are wide and filled with antiques strategically placed here and there. I had a corner room with a mountain view. It was spacious and comfortable. My only complaint was an inefficient air conditioner. The room never cooled off sufficiently and the nights were uncomfortable. The hotel did give me a 10% discount because of this. The staff was friendly and accommodating. All in all a great experience.

Hotel is histrical and has good atmosphere. The room was not so large, but quiet and clean.
Location is fine. Next to Glenwood Spring Station. Lots of restourants.
I had a flat tire of my rent-a-car. Front lady helped me and call AAA for me. Thnks a lot.
