“A true gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

This hotel is, or was, a bit more expensive than all the rest but it was a true treat. From the very friendly and courteous front desk staff to the four poster bed this was a true treat. The location is excellent right downtown and within walking distance to everything. We were given complimentary towels to use at the pool, which is very romantic at night and were generally treated like royalty. The Hotel Denver blows away the old broken down hotel across the river which I have stayed at many, many times, I will definitely stay at The Hotel Denver again.

Room Tip: I requested a mountain view room and got it. You pay more for views.

We stayed at the Hotel Denver for 3 nights as guests for a wedding. The hotel was built around the turn of the 20th century, so it has a lot of character. The rooms have antique beds and dressers, quilts, etc. It is not a Hilton, but we loved it. The air conditioning works great. The staff was friendly, helpful and broke their backs to help you. The brewpub that is attached has really good beer ( I brew my own), the food is okay, not great. There is a coin laundry in the basement, a salon and gift shop. There are suites available with a jacuzzi. The hotel is across the street from the restored (and still active) Amtrack station, perfectly situated where you want to be in Glenwood Springs. Rates are from $99-$199.We opted to make our own beds and get our own towels for their "green service". You get a $5 a day voucher for this at the Brewpub. We did it for fun.

Room Tip: The $99 rooms are above the Brewpub, so avoid them if noise bothers you.

I recently stayed in this hotel while attending a business conference. Fortunate enough to have a view across the river, the room location was perfect. The room was very clean and offered any amenities I would need. I'm very selective about where I stay, and this hotel was perfect. Food in the BrewPub was great. An outstanding location, within walking distace to shops and other excellent restaurants. I would definitely recommend the Hotel Denver and stay there again.

The rooms are great and very reasonably priced. The staff is very helpful. Very close to the hot springs. Free bottled water, coffee, granola bars all day long.

We just stayed at this hotel for my daughters wedding. We had quite a few rooms for the wedding party and there were several small issues, as you would expect. The general manager and the front desk took care of everything very professionally and promptly. All of the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The Colorado rooms and the 2 bathroom suites with a view are very charming and clean. I would not reccommend an interior room. They were a bit dark and some of the "windows" could be seen into from people getting off of the elevator. We loved the view of the river and the mountains and our bed was very comfortable.
The complimentary water and apples were a nice touch along with the granola bars and coffee and tea.
We had the wedding reception upstairs in the Loft. I would highly recommend this for a party or meeting.
There is an attached restaurant and many more within walking distance. The Hot Springs Pool is just a walk across the bridge.

This hotel delivers exceptional service from booking to check- out. Booking with Roxie was a very pleasant experience and she went out of her way to inform me of things to do in the area, which rafting companies were in the area, and information and pricing for the Adventure park. When we arrived, we realized the suite for our family of 4 was not what we expected - not their fault, just not what we expected. The front desk personel were quick to offer another room to accomodate two of our party for a discounted rate. It was obvious that making their customers happy was paramount and it was greatly appreciated.

The hotel is beautifully decorated with interesting artwork and antique furniture throughout. It was obvious to me that the people who own it and also the people who work at the hotel take a great deal of pride in it's decor and also it's history.

The restaurant attached to the hotel has great food and great beer and the hotel is convienently located within walking distance to the Hot Springs pool, the put put golf, Blue Sky Rafting and the adventure park parking lot, just to name a few. There are plenty of restaurants also within walking distance. Don't miss out on Rib City for lunch or dinner and Daily Bread for breakfast!

The hotel does not offer a free breakfast, but they do offer free bottled water and apples and granola bars in the morning.

The rooms are immaculent and the beds are comfortable. Again each room was decorated with unique antiques and home made quilts. The two rooms I saw had hard wood floors so you couldn't ask for a more homey feel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone! Thanks Hotel Denver for a great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay during the 4th of July weekend. We made a last minute reservation on Saturday morning, July 2 and the General Manager (Scott) was able to accommodate our request. The hotel is dog friendly and Scott and the staff are excellent. The location is within a short walking distance to several restaurants, the Hot Springs pool and an Activities center where we were able to rent bikes and go white water rafting. Having a brew pub just down the hall is certainly an added plus.

Overall a really great experience.
