“Enjoyable hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

We stayed at the Hampton Inn on August 27th, 2012. Our room was spacious, clean, and quiet. The desk staff were helpful. The Hampton Inn buffet breakfasts are always delicious, satisfying, and help to get you on your way; we appreciate that. We travel through Glenwood Springs frequently and will be staying here in the future. We live in Castle Rock, Colorado.

Dear "Joseph T": Thank you so much for your input. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us, and especially glad that you are planning to stay with us again. Our staff definitely is helpful. The complimentary breakfast is such a nice thing that Hampton Inns have in place - as you mentioned, it helps get people on their way. We're looking forward to your next visit with us.

I had hoped that the hotel would be a bit more off the road with bit of character to it, in reality it is a functional stop over on the outskirts of town, a short driving distance from Glenwood. We spent 2 nights here, the Glenwood area offered a lot more than we had expected at first glance and the hotel was a very good base for the area.
The room that we were first allocated had too much road noise for me and had a dark aspect. I asked if i could change and Duayne offered an alternative which was fine. The hotel was full and very busy so I was grateful to him for doing this.
We also had problems with contacting the helpline for our bank, again Duayne was helpful as the phone in our room didn't work. It was a good stay but if we come back again I will look for a quieter place further out of town.
On a broader note I just want to comment that in this hotel as in other US chain hotels that we stayed, it is not a good experience to eat off plastic plates with plastic cutlery. The environmental impact is worrying we have too much landfill already. it also takes away a few hours paid work washing and clearing. What does one really save by eating off throw away plates etc?

Room Tip: I found that rooms facing the car park were quieter than those at the rear.

Dear "Lisa-Lan": Thank you so much for taking the time to post your review on TripAdvisor. We understand you had a couple of things come up that were not to your satisfaction, and we apologize for that. We are pleased, however, that Duewayne took care of you. We also value your input on the plates and plasticware. Glenwood Springs does have a lot to offer, so we hope you visit again.

Friendly staff and a good rate. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the room we had was quiet. Typical breakfast. Cable TV reception is awful, so don't bother trying to really watch anything meaningful. If you're just passing through, this is a decent place to stay.

My wife and I stayed two nights at the Hampton Inn in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, which we considered to be a couple of cuts above the corporate standard. Not only were several members of the Innkeeper’s staff with whom we interacted very cordial and very helpful, our room was larger than the standard, and it was clean and ready when we arrived early and without warning. The breakfast was up to the Hampton norm, but in addition, the fitness center was excellent and included a multiple treadmills, an elliptical machine (each of the exercise machines had an independently-operated television with private audio) free weights, plenty of towels and abundant disinfectant wipes. We were glad we decided to stay two nights and would gladly do so again.

A very pleasant overnight stay for us. The receptionist was particularly good , She was waiting with some freshly baked cookies for us when we returned from our swim in the hotel pool. She was also able to recommend a very nice restaurant within walking distance......Finns.
A very good, consistent ,hotel group. A shame their Hilton Honours points scheme runs off each year as we never seem able to do anything with the points we have earned. If they were cumulative we might get some benefit from the points as we really like these hotels.

Spend 2 nights at the Hampton Inn, had a nice (but dark) suite with a Jacuzzi.
Room and surroundings were clean and pleasant. Breakfast on par with other Hampton Inns.
Reception was helpful.

Overall quiet and a good starting point for exploring the mountains.

We checked into the Hampton late evening on a Thursday. Duwayne was very pleasant and had a nice sense of humor. The rooms were typical Hampton. Nothing special but not horrible. I don't know who picked out the carpet in the lobby and the rooms....but UGLY! yikes.....not for a mountain town for sure.
The workout room was small but all clean and I good working order.
Didn't stay for breakfast but great coffee!

Room Tip: Rooms away from the road would be quieter!

Dear "Sunny98": Thank you for your recent review on TripAdvisor. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your welcome from Duewayne. Yes, the carpets are a little bit different for a mountain town. We hope you will stay with us on your next visit to Glenwood Springs when you have a little more time to enjoy the Hotel as well as the town!
