I have eaten now at the Italian Underground both times I have stayed in Glenwood Springs in the last year. The wait for a table is always worth it, service great and food fantastic. If you plan on going, make for sure you go early and get your name in. So many people end up turning around and leaving when they hear that the wait is longer than what they want to endure. They treat you like family and I don't have one single complaint with this establishment.

What a little gem of a restaurant. We were treated like family. The owner kept us entertained with tales of Itay as well as local history. The food and wine were excellent. We can't wait to return. Thank you for a memorable evening.

We ate here 2 nights while vacationing in Glenwood Springs. The first night was pure chance; we walked by, smelled a delicious aroma, then overheard some locals talking about it up the street. We turned around a went back...a very lucky decision!

I don't generally care for Italian food, but my two meals here count as one of the best meals ever eaten, and certainly the best Italian food I've ever had. I had spaghetti with tomato and basil sauce both nights and it was indescribably fresh with a delightful "zing" to it. The meal came with a tasty green salad, hot hot hot bread with garlic butter, and sherbet. Some of entrees are available in a smaller portion for a reduced price, which I think is a great option. I spent most of my two meals there in a sort of gourmet haze, focused on the tastes I was enjoying.

The menu is not huge, but I think that's because they pick a few things to offer that they can do really well. And, yes, you probably will have to wait for a table unless you get there right at 5 when they open. It's worth it, though!!

You may have to wait a little while for a table, but the food is worth it. The locals favorite, with good reason. A great selection of flavorfull Italian dishes, and the wait staff is the hardest working group we've ever seen.
