“Clean, Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

We stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms were neat and clean, and the front desk was friendly. It was nice having a fridge and microwave in the room. The indoor pool area was not as clean---we ended up using it when the outdoor pool area closed early. We had called specifically to find out the hours, so we could plan accordingly. It was pretty convenient to the Hot Springs Pool.

Spent several days here while biking, hiking, and enjoying many local attractions. The staff, especially Joe the maintenance man and all around friendly guy provided a clean, well maintained room along with a good breakfast. Joe-Many thanks for the "super glue" for my broken bike glasses..it worked great!

They have a separate storage room for your bicycle or skis depending on the season. Right next door to the hotel was the cheapest gas in town at the Sinclair gas station. Also just a few doors down go to the diner for a meal of good comfort food.

We stayed in the family suite with a kitchen. There was a large room that contained 2 double beds plus a pull-out futon, and a kitchen table that seated 6. Full size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and stove/oven with cooking pans, and utensils. There was a second bedroom containing a queen bed.

The suite was very clean, with a newly updated bathroom (new, clean tile and new bathtub/shower insert). The motel is pretty old, but has been well-maintained and somewhat updated. Beds were pretty comfortable, and the street noise wasn't too bad.

There were also some outdoor picnic areas that were nicely landscaped, one with a propane grill and picnic table. Kids enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor pools. They also have a room for bike or ski storage (VERY helpful!) Also free Wi-Fi.

Breakfast was limited continental, but adequate. Toaster waffles, toaster French toast, 2 types of cereal, boiled eggs, fruit, danishes, and yogurt.

Location was easy to find (just off the main street in Glenwood, about a 3 minute drive from the pool), across the street from the supermarket, and right next to a bus stop (if you take the train into Glenwood, you could probably take the bus to this motel, but we did not try it.)

Room Tip: Not all family suites have a kitchen, so be sure to check carefully when booking if this is a necess...

This was my first experience of an american motel and it was just like you'd see in the movies.
It was a little dated, but the room was clean and comfortable.
I was dissapointed to not find a vibrating bed like in the movie 'Trains, planes and automobiles'!
Would stay here again.

This hotel was very dated and the carpets were pretty dirty, as we found out when we went barefoot in the room and had black feet! The pool was nice and had a very good view of the mountain right in front of us. It was decent and a good price for our annual trip to Glenwood for the Strawberry Days festival. Very close to the festival - we could walk there - and the staff was very nice.

Following my wife's request not to stay in any chain hotels during our Colorado trip, booked 2 nights after reading reviews on here. She liked how they kind of embraced the 60's or 70's style. From the carpet in the room to the one big key for the room to the little soaps.
With the low cost of rooms, we booked a larger room so we could have our boys in two double beds in one room with one TV, and my wife and I with the queen bed in another, giving us a nice little break from one another in the middle of a long road trip.
Just a few minutes from downtown, and a supermarket right across the street, the location was fine. After doing the Glenwood Canyon bike ride, rewarded the boys with some downtime in the afternoon and they enjoyed the outdoor pool, and we utilized the laundry.
The breakfast offerings were sufficient.
A solid value for the money.

This is a very nice motel. We stayed three nights. Our room was larger than the big chains offer. We had a 2 queen, room 201. The bathroom, sink, fridge, microwave, closet area is separate and away from the entrance, quite large relative to other motels. Having some rental property myself, I always notice little details about upkeep and upgrades. The carpet was in excellent condition, the beds were comfortable, the appliances were clean and worked without issue. The bathroom was redone very well - tile work was top-notch, fixtures in the shower looked nice. The grounds were very well maintained. The indoor pool / hot tub / sauna was wonderful. My daughters and I were in there every afternoon.

This place gets 4.5 stars. The dings are for a sink that drained very slowly and regurgitated scum from previous occupants - a little disgusting. I brought this to the attention of the front desk on our first day, and by day three it still had not been addressed. I was tempted to pull the trap and ream it out myself, because it's such an easy fix. Also, the WiFi didn't work the first night or two, and by the third night we got connected "most" of the time. And I'm not sure why in-room coffee is by request.

Tips - Uncle Pizza is a short walk away, and for a hole in the wall I thought it was great pizza and calzone. Liquor store is on the way to Uncle Pizza. If you have kids, very nice park/playground is also only a couple blocks south. Save a few bucks and buy your hot springs pass from the motel. Lots to see and do around Glenwood and I recommend this motel as your basecamp.
