“Don't be put off by negative reviews! Great place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2012

I booked a cabin before I read the negative reviews, so I wasn't sure what to think. I'm glad we stayed here.

The Pros:
Very, very clean! There was not even a crumb in the drawers. While we stayed, I saw the cleaning crew spend a couple hours cleaning the cabin next door. They're doing a great job with this.

Very comfortable! The couches, chairs, and beds were great and in good repair. It made for a very cozy experience.

Well-equipped. The kitchen had everything required for full meals for four. The appliances are full-size and in good repair. Everything we needed to take care of the cabin (cleaning supplies, hand towels, extra blankets and pillows) was on hand. The only things I'd like to see are salt and pepper shakers.

Beautiful location. Along the river on the edge of cliffs, it's breath-taking to see. Some folks complained about train noise, which may be true if you're in a tent, but it wasn't a problem in the cabins. We could hear the train, but it wasn't a disturbance.

Convenient location. As remote and peaceful as the location was, we initially thought it'd be far from Glenwood Springs. Not at all. It was a 5 minute drive to the hot springs and downtown Glenwood. We did not bring bikes, but in the future, we make just bike the trail into town and avoid the highway altogether. The best of both worlds, really!

Price. I've seen some complaints about that, too. Considering we'd have to rent two hotel rooms rather than one cabin, then we'd have to pay to eat out every meal, we got a great deal!

The cons:
This isn't really a con, but it stuck out because the rest of the experience was so good. I didn't get the feeling that the management was really happy to see us there. Everything went fine, but I didn't get the feeling that they were enthusiastic about our stay. Not worth a rating downgrade.

This is a HUGE con for me, but maybe not for everyone, so disregard if not. There is no recycling in this facility. I feel like there's something weird about enjoying nature and then not taking simple steps to protect it.

We are currently staying in the cabin, came here from fort.carson for a family vaction/early valentines weekend. When we got to our cabin we were so excited, beautiful inside and out. The cabim has everything you could ever need, its like home away from home. The beds are so comfortable, and im picky. Kitchen has everything. When we got here it was nite, so we couldnt see much, when we woke the next morning amazing mountain views, and the propert was so clean and we found that theres alot of summer actvitys such as rock climbing, on walls, rafting, fishing, a zip line, a bar and grill. We will be coming up here for the next yeara to come. Worth every penny and we got free ski tickets as well, kevin the manager is absoulty amazing, very friendly and took care of us very well. Our children love it here, this is a place to make meomries last forever. Thank you glenwood resort for this experince.

We've been coming here for three years to celebrate birthdays and each year gets better and better. The cabins are just right and so relaxing. We are so close to the Hot springs as well which makes for a great time. The staff here are also super helpful and we have never felt rushed! We will continue to make this a tradition and will always recommend the cabins to our friends!! Thank you!

This was our 3rd stay at the Glenwood Canyon Resort, and we will continue to come back. The views of Glenwood Canyon are spectacular! The pictures online do not even do this justice. The cabins are cozy and comfortable and has many kitchen ammenities. If you have kids, they will love the upstairs loft, as our do! Kevin Peterson was very professional and accomodated us by letting us take our time in checking out the next day. We have stayed in "cabins" like this in other locations, and the ones at Glenwood Canyon Resort blow them away. What a gem!

The suites are an amazing place to "get away" for a long weekend! The rooms are very spacious and just beautifully kept. This place is tucked away where you wouldn't expect it and well worth the expense. Can't wait to come back!

We decided last minute to visit friends in Glenwood for New Year's Eve and spend time in with other friends in Aspen. This resort is conveniently located and turned out to be a gem. We did not know what to expect but found the "cabins' to be cozy and very well equiped for our family of 4. Management is very nice and accomodating. They let our friends in prior to our arrival to add some NYE's special treats for us and the kids including a small tree and lights, so fun. I would recommend these cabins to anyone wanting a get-a-way without having to pay and deal with Aspen hype and prices.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Rosevelt Cabin #2, very nice.
