“Top Notch Service and People”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

We were planning a week long vacation in Glenwood Springs and sent an email to Blue sky about a couple of bike outings and a rafting excursion. Casey (the bike manager at sister company Canyon Bikes) responded promptly and set us up on some amazing outings. First, we were taken by shuttle up the Glenwood Canyon and biked down to Hanging Lake, where we hiked up to it and Spouting Rock. These sights are not to be missed. Next we did the Double Shoshone rafting trip with Lindsay (Casey's wife) and had a blast. The Colorado River was not as rough this year, as compared to other years. Blame Mother Nature and not Blue Sky. Finally, we rented bikes and bussed into Aspen and rode the 42 mile Rio Grande Trail back to town. Amazing. Everyone at Blue Sky was professional and extremely friendly.

“Company great, river not very challenging”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

You really need to separate the review into two component parts: the company and the river. The experience we had with Blue Sky was excellent. The location is convenient, the equipment was in good shape, the guide (Luke) was very friendly and knowledgeable, and I'd say overall our experience met or exceeded expectations from that standpoint.

However the river was far from challenging - I can't say whether it is because the river was down this year or some other reason (we went in June). We took our 3 girls (12, 10, and 6) and it was fine for their first experience rafting, but even the two older girls were lamenting the need for more rapids by the end.

If you have teenagers and are looking for a more challenging experience, I would suggest going to a different river (but not because of anything Blue Sky could control).

“The Best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

We had a great experience with rafting with Blue Sky Adventures - we combined it with bike rentals from their sister company, Canyon Bikes.

The day started off getting fitted for our bikes, which were great. The employees helping us were so friendly, professional and helpful. We then took the bike shuttle and had very enjoyable ride on the Glenwood Canyon Trail. We were done by lunch, left the bikes back at Canyon Bikes, and then picked them up in late afternoon to take another ride (at no extra fee.)

We went on the rafting trip the next morning, which was so much fun and not nearly as hard paddling as I thought it would be. Blue Sky is the first one on the water in the morning, so it was terrific to go before it got too crowded or too hot. As it is cold fir thing in the morning, though, I did wear the waterproof jacket and pants (free!) and they kept me nice and dry. Our rafting guide knew his job well, and also told us about the area history.

The morning ending up purchasing a CD of some great photos that Patrick (the owner) took. In talking with his employees, they really like and respect Patrick and appreciate the fact that he is a hands on owner, working every day at his businesses.

On our next trip to Glenwood Springs, we will definitely use Canyon Bikes and Blue Sky Adventures again!

“Great first time rafting adventure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2012

Our guide Chris knew his stuff about the river and area. My family of 5 and two other groups of 2 on the boat was comfortable, it allowed my youngest to take about a 120 pictures of the trip. We took the half day trip and where in the raft for about 2.5 hours. Now the family wants to raft the Arkansas river when we get home.

“Great trip for all ages.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2012

We went with a large group of 40+ people. We ended up with more people then we thought. The rafting company was gracious and responsive, even with the extra numbers. Most of the group ran the rapids and then the boat went over and picked up me and my two young children at a little beach below the rapids. This allowed the younger kids to join the older kids for a really fun day.

The guide was awesome and pointed out a lot of fun stuff along the trip. At one point the kids jumped out and swam along the boat. Great fun was had by all and the pricing was very reasonable.

One tip- Office is located in the south side of the Hotel Colorado.
