lake is amazing and most folks can make it up the trail.
heavily traveled and the views on the way up is average.

skip this and go to SHRINE RIDGE TRAIL. better views and payoff.

“Nice hike”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012

Get here early before 9 for a close parking spot. If not you will not get a spot. You need good shoes no flp, flops like we saw. Beat the heat and do it early. It is not an easy hike for some. We are middle age and some points were hard. Lots of people visit and trail is busy. Take water and camera for sure. It takes roughly 2 hours round trip depending on your hiking level. Make sure you visit spouting rock. This takes you on top on hanging lake and provides a different view in addition you se spouting rock! You can not swim in the lake. Well worth the hike!

“bring lots of water....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012

Loved the hike... go early or later in the day, avoid the heat as much as you can. Its not for beginners, strollers, the aged who cannot walk well. You can't be a big fat smoker and do this easily, lets just say that... its a climbing type hike. Not a stroll. The lake is breathtaking so the trip is totally worth it.

The lake is absolutely gorgeous. Words nor pictures can describe it. A must see if you can take a difficult hike for a couple of hours!

“Gorgeous!”

It's worth the hike :) It was nice to sit and just relax for a bit. While we sat, we had a little hummingbird and a ground squirrel come within reach, it was pretty awesome.
