“Health Hike to Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012

The 1.2 mile hike up the valley is tough in some spots, but well worth the view once you get to the lake. The water is crystal clear, a wonder of nature.

“1.2 miles and 1020 ft. up, and worth it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

I heard wonderful things about this lake near Glenwood Springs Colorado, so we turned off Highway 70 and made our way to the parking area. Fortunately we were prepared for this difficult hike.

The trail is 1.2 miles up steep, uneven rock stairs, around some huge boulders via a pathway along a stream with a 1020 ft elevation. The last section is up very steep rock stairs, but there is a new railing for support.

It is definitely worth the effort to see this crystal-clear pool and waterfalls when you arrive at the destination.

This is not for those with a fear of heights or in poor physical condition. Small children need to be carried. Take plenty of water and if you wish , a lunch or snack to enjoy at the top overlooking the lake.

“Fun for all ages!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012

Great idea for any vacation to GWS. It's best to start out really early to miss some of the crowds. This hike is not rated as easy and if your child isn't into hiking, it can be a challenge. Enjoy the view.

This was a really long hike, and I’m not use to the exercise, but the place was worth it… we had a wonderful time!!!
