Owner description: Sunlight features 67 named trails covering over 470 acres. In addition to miles of cruising intermediate terrain, Sunlight's East Ridge has one of the steeper runs in the state. Aptly named, The Heathen falls beneath your feet at a breathtaking 52 degrees. Sunlight is home to one of the longest trails in ski country, Ute, a beginner slope that winds more than 2 miles from summit to base. Sunlight also hosts some of the best tree skiing in Colorado with many aspen groves untracked days after snowfall. All trails converge at the base lodge, so friends and family can always keep track of each other

“A low key family ski area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2012

A less expensive place to ski, with generally good skiing and easy access from Glenwood Springs. The lifts are the old fashioned slow ones, everything is low key and friendly.

“Best little local ski resort ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2012

Want to get away from crowds, overpriced foodstuffs and busrides from the parking lot to avoid having to pay $25 to park slope side? Want to find fresh lines at 3pm on a powder day? Want to ski some of the best steep and loaded tree runs in Colorado? Want to pay a fraction for the lift tickets compared with 30 minutes away up valley? Then come to Sunlight Ski resort. Family friendly and a great mix of runs, from super easy greens to some of the steepest stuff you can find in Colorado. Yes, the lifts are slow but that just gives you more time to contemplate and meditate over how lucky you are to be skiing at Sunlight while they don't overfill the runs with too many people. (I usually have a pass for the other resorts upvalley as well as for Sunlight, still spend half the winter at Sunlight just because it's so great!)

“Fun place with great prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

We have always had a great time here. The lift operators, ski patrol and rental crews are very friendly and helpful. The swim and ski package makes a weekend vacation much more affordable. We love coming up here every year.

“fun ski area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2012

we went to sunlight over spring break and enjoyed it very much. we stayed at brettleberg condos on the mountain. This is a very convenient place to stay and is highly recommended. Sunlight is very casual and all the staff was very friendly and helpful. I don't have anything negative to say at all. Glenwood springs has activities for the family and you can drive to aspen for people watching if so desired. There are enough runs for beginners and experts alike. The lifts could use some updating like safety bars, but are adequate.
