If you are looking for an expensive, pretentious mountain go somewhere else. If you are looking for a great day of skiing or snowboarding without the overblown amenities this is the place to go. The mountain has enough variety to keep the whole family happy for many days. The cafeteria is reasonably priced (my husband and I can get lunch for about $20) and has enough selection that everyone can find something. Tables are hard to come by at lunch time, but this problem is not specific to Loveland. Since the mountain is located on the continental divide the view from the top is unbeatable. The lifts are not highspeed but sit back and enjoy the scenery and you will be at the top before you know it.
