“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2013

Very clean, quiet, cozy and welcoming hotel, an hour away from Denver airport, and 15 minutes to Loveland Ski Area. We received a welcome glass of wine upon arrival and freshly baked croissants, fruit and orange juice delivered right to our room in the morning. L'Occitane bath products and soft linens in room. Loved that we had a personal code instead of a key to get into the hotel and our room. Definitely will seek to stay here EVERY time we come to the area!

Loved Hotel Chateau Chamonix. Had a first floor non-creek private hot tub room. Everything from the individual attention upon arrival to the easy checkout process made my husband and I already thinking about our return. The centralized location makes me think we’ll return on a regular basis with Blackhawk, Loveland Ski Area, Guenella Pass and beautiful downtown Georgetown all within a short drive. We’ll definitely try to plan a getaway around the availability of a creek-side room, but would do an off-creek room if necessary. The off-creek room hot tubs face the employee parking lot; guests are not supposed to park there, and few do. They are fairly private but if you’re feeling modest, cover up! It is fabulous and really the cherry on top, for the rest of the room is equally decadent and special.

The shower is impeccable- it’s huge and even has its own sitting bench. Unlike any shower I’ve seen in a hotel. The continental breakfast is awesome and delivered to your room through the wall each morning- nobody waking you up or intruding on your space but you still get to enjoy breakfast in your room. The croissants are delicious. And the coffee maker is the best damn coffee maker to ever grace a hotel room. It’s some euro looking Nescafe maker. It makes fabulous coffee. There’s only a small supply of cream and sugar so bring your own if you want to make more than just one or two cups of coffee (or I guess you could ask the front desk, they seemed very accommodating). There’s also a fridge and microwave. Finally, two of Georgetown’s best restaurants are within walking distance and they are both excellent.

The staff are gracious, kind, and it’s some of the best hospitality I’ve experienced in America, certainly the best at any hotel I’ve been to. Made me think we were in Thailand when the desk clerk toured us around the hotel and served us a complimentary glass of wine.

My only complaint was that it got noisy right outside of our room (chambre 101) so I couldn’t sleep in until 10 am as planned. There was also a strange and annoying noise in the ceiling that caused us to wear earplugs. I think it was the heating system, sounded like a ball dropping and rolling on the floor over and over again. The room is actually quite well insulated from outside noise like the highway, but not so well from the hallway and HVAC system.

If you decide to stay here, the fireplace heats up the room quickly which is great, but it can get quite toasty. The off-creek rooms have a lovely view of the shops down Argentine, Argentine road, the employee parking lot, and I-70. I suppose there is some sick pleasure in watching the ski crowd power-brake down the interstate while you’re relaxing in your own hot tub, but I would definitely pay extra if creek side rooms are available.

Room Tip: Get a creek-side private hot tub room

Thank you for your kind words regarding your stay at the Chamonix! We like knowing our property creates a good experience for our guests. I did want to comment on the tapping sound you heard. Sometimes when the wind is just right the chairs on the private balconies above you get moved into a position where they might rock back and forth when all 4 legs are not in contact with the deck flooring and can create the sound you mentioned. In the winter we turn the chairs upside down so that can't happen, but if you hear that sound any other time just let us know and we can easily take care of it. The wind in the mountains keeps things interesting at times!

It is always good when guests give us feedback so we can keep working on improving their experience here. Again, thank you for your kind comments!

My Colorado friend picked me up at the Denver airport on a Thursday evening and we arrived in about an hours time. The desk clerk gave us a tour, recommended a local restaurant with the "locals' pricing" for dinner. She was kind enough to deliver our welcome glasses of wine to our room while we were at dinner. When we returned, we enjoyed the wine in the hot tub on the upper deck. The next morning there was about four inches of snow and we enjoyed the mountain view with breakfast and coffee. The bathroom, linens and toiletries were all high end. One recommendation I would make to all B & Bs, how about rooms with king beds that are made by joining two extra long twins? This would make it a bit less awkward for friends who travel together. While traveling in Europe, I found many rooms made up this way.

Room Tip: We slept with the door ajar to hear the sound of the creek all evening in a creekside room. The vie...

A friend told me about this hotel after she stumbled on it and raved about every detail. She was concerned that she had oversold it, but we were thrilled when there was a cancellation and we were able to get a room at the last minute. The attention to detail was appreciated, from the beautiful room and breakfast, to the amazing staff. The hotel is very inviting and Owen made you feel like HE was happy you were there; he even came over and said hello later that evening when we were at the same restaurant. How often does that happen?
We had a second floor room on the creek, so no personal hot tub, but the pleasant sound of the babbling creek to fall asleep to at night and a wonderful fireplace to take the chill from the air.
This was definitely the highlight for us in Georgetown, as we arrived late afternoon on Sunday and the "downtown" had closed and were on the road before they reopened on Monday. Didn't seem like there was much to do in the area, other than hike, but we absolutely loved the hotel!

Room Tip: Rooms on the creek, as the others appear to face the parking lot.

This inn is fantastic. The staff is helpful and friendly. My wife and I stayed here for an anniversary weekend. We had a room on the creek side with its own hot tub. It was ideal. So many b&bs and inns are choked in lace and doilies. The furnishings here are classic, but not frumpy.

This sweet little hotel in Georgetown, CO is so charming and delightful! It has elegant, old-world-style rooms, that are also up-to-date in amenities and modern devices. Free high-speed wireless internet and flat-screen TV's with hundreds of channels and cable are welcome and appreciated! The continental breakfast, delivered in such a fun way in the morning, is excellent - sitting by the fire to read, relax, and eat were very much appreciated as was the private 2-person hot tub on our patio. We didn't have a room by the river since we called to make a reservation on the afternoon of the day we wanted to check in for the night, but we did have an excellent, spacious room and, next time (and we WILL go again as soon as we can!!) we will request a downstairs room by the river! The manager on duty when we checked in was very gracious and friendly! She gave us a tour of the hotel and had so many delightful stories about many of the beautiful items in the lobby and upstairs sitting room! We really enjoyed our stay in this delightful hotel!

Room Tip: The downstairs rooms by the river would be delightful, but we had a room downstairs too (all the riv...

We had a great stay here. Owen at the front desk was SO welcoming and friendly when we checked in. The rooms were very comfortable and offered the extras you wouldn't find in a standard hotel: the river view, hot tubs, breakfast in the morning... I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.
