We had to traveled up 285 due to I-25 at Raton Pass New Mexico being snowed out and really wanted to be home that day. We were on our last day of traveling 21 days and 10 states and stayed at many Holiday Inns during that time frame but had to stay one more night somewhere because it had been a long day.
Going through Frisco we saw a sign for Holiday Inn along I-70 and a new sign stating this was newly remodeled Hotel and were offering lower rates. Being a premere customer we decided this was for us.
Upon entering, we noticed 3 people behind the counter, loud music from an iPod or iPhone laying on the counter, no one really knowing what they were doing, letting people interrupt our check in time after time, no premere gift or water and when I asked if they could give me an update on points aquired on this trip (as I've asked from all the other Holday Inns) I was told to look them up on line. I honestly thought this was a whole new staff due to their unprofessionalism. After check in they didn't instruct us as to where to go with our luggage (which I found to be up several long ramps, down a hallway to an elevator.
After getting to our room I noticed it had a moldy oder and no refridgerator. I asked the staff about the fridge and was told, they were all out. After that comment, due to being so tired I decided the next comment was not worth saying. After closer inspection, the bathroom kleenex box was on the counter was soaked from the last client and the tub had a black hair in it and the stopper had been taken out and laid along side of the tub. The bathroom door hook was not screwed in and the door on the bottom had a big hole on the edge abut 2"x4".
We had to ask for water and upon asking if we were to receive anything else they threw a small zip like bag on the counter which after that we said they could keep.
I am a firm believer that you should not criticize without suggestions and my suggestions would be: Retrain your staff, pull your sign that says newly remodeld.
I feel this Hotel does not live up to the Holiday Inn expectectations we received along our long trip and at this time would not recommend you stay here.
