“Weekend getaway in the snow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2014

Great little couples or family getaway. The cabins are newer, large, quiet, and warm! Staff (including Bella the dog) are friendly and polite. Watching the snow (almost a foot in the three days we were there) from inside with coffee, gas fireplace, and jetted tub was very relaxing.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a tub in your room. Privacy is our #1 and the tub means you don't have to shar...

We got married at the Wild Horse Inn last summer. Our wedding was a blast and was beautiful, but it was not because of much help we received from Kimberly, who is the event sales person. She made it incredibly apparent that she was not much interested in helping us out from the day we signed the contract. Quite rude. In fact, really her only correspondences were around collecting money. When we needed her advice, she was far less willing to be helpful. It was really disappointing and really put a downer on the wedding planning process. Despite that her wedding day help was promised to us, she didn't even come on our wedding day, and instead put us in the hands of Chris, who was at least much more customer service orientated and tried as hard as she could to be helpful. The actual weekend of the wedding went mostly smoothly, but there were some issues. For the amount our guests paid to stay at the inn, and considering its a B and B, I think they could have done more with breakfast. It was quite minimal. I also think the 10pm music cut-off time is a super downfall of the property as a wedding venue. The Wildhorse Inn is a beautiful venue in a beautiful valley and ultimately we had a great wedding, but that was really due to the fact that we worked our butts off to make that happen, and had hoped that we would have received a bit more support. Be sure to weigh the pros and cons carefully, as it's a lot of money to spend.

We had a wonderful few days at the Wild Horse Inn while skiing at winter park. The main lodge is beautiful - massive log beams and walls, tasteful decorations, cozy feel, well-furnished rooms. There are also cabins for those seeking more privacy. The owners, Chris and John were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and complete. It was rejuvenating to sit in the hot tub on the back deck after a long day on the slopes. Bella, the house dog, is very lovable, greeting you when you return. There are DVDs to watch, books to read, overall, a perfect inn experience.

The location is great - away from the busy touristy resort hotels, but a short drive to nearby downhill and cross-country ski areas. Highly recommendable!

From the minute we walked up to the Wild Horse Inn and saw festive lights hanging from a ristra, beautifully carved wood beams, the smell of rich coffee, and wine breathing on the table by the fire we felt comfortable and knew it was a magical place. The rooms were clean and cozy. The views spectacular. The breakfast quiche made by John inspired me to go home and try a new recipe myself...mine wasn't as good. The owners John and Chris and their staff were exceptionally kind and authentic. We were greeted with a big smile and shown maps of where to snowshoe and go out to dinner. We absolutely loved this place! The only deal was if you went into the hot tub at night you had to make a snow angel. Fun, right? M & K .

Our family stayed here for a small wedding. We fill the entire inn and the cabins. The inn was cozy and very clean. The staff was helpful, far beyond our expectations. I was amazed by their ability to move furniture to accommodate an indoor wedding and reception. Our family loved the breakfast options and the hot tub as well! The inn made alternatives for family with food allergies. We will definitely go back.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Dogwood which was lovely!

You can not find a better B&B in the valley!!! We stayed here for our Honeymoon, we rented a cabin on the property. Wow how beautiful, surrounded by wildflowers and beautiful views!!

When we arrived we were greeted by the owners and they were friendly and sweet and gave us a bottle of bubbly to start the celebration off right. The food was amazing during our stay, John the owner is an AMAZING cook!! His omelet was like nothing I have ever tasted! So good, fresh and fluffy!!

The service was great, complementary wine and coffee, a wonderful library with and take a book leave a book style. It was the best getaway we had. Plus if you have an event to attend at the Devils Thumb Ranch I suggest you stay here, just a short 2 minuet drive, and better accommodations. Also you can't beat that it cost less :)

Room Tip: We choose the cabins..for us that was they way to go.

We found Wild Horse Inn while searching for somewhere special to stay for our wedding night. We were thrilled to find that the Wild Horse Inn could also assist with our small wedding. Providing a place for our small ceremony, flowers, and a wedding cake; however, we quickly started to feel like an inconvenience. This feeling lasted throughout the planning process and during our stay and was really our most significant complaint. The location is beautiful and peaceful. We saw 5 deer on our wedding day. We stayed in one of the cabins for two nights and while it was very cozy, we did notice a few things. The internet only reached one small corner of the cabin and was a very weak signal. The TV with DVD and VCR was old and we had issues getting the DVD player to work. The fireplace let off a distinct natural gas smell that was present throughout our stay and the water pressure was very weak. On a positive note, the breakfast was delicious. Bella, the resident dog was adorable and very friendly and the flowers that were provided for the ceremony were perfect! The cabin was very clean and very private and had a lot of windows to enjoy the natural surroundings.
