“Fun and Good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

The meal was great, the waitress was fun and the cook looked out and waved as she worked in the kitchen. My two sons, my granddaughter and myself walked out so satisfied that we were unable to sample the pie which looked like my Grandma made it from scratch. I will be back to make a meal of pie.

“Human Blood in the food!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

My family and I take a trip to Colorado every year and we decided to stop in here to eat. They were out of bison anything and out of tortillas chips. Basically out of half the menu. My family member ordered the onion rings and there was a pool of HUMAN BLOOD on the plate! They gave her the meal free but only her. After that sort of thing, every one at that table's meal should be free!!! DISGUSTING! The cook wasn't even wearing gloves! DO NOT GO THERE.

“Slap Yo' Mamma Good! - Second visit, Second review”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

I had visited the Old West Cafe this past summer and now went back this past winter, the week before Christmas. Despite MINUS 24 degree weather, we trekked out and headed to the cafe. Once again, the breakfast was fabulous. There's a section of the menu called (I think) Fiesta breakfasts... This time we both had two different types of breakfast burritos; one with eggs, sausage, bacon, cheese and it was smothered in Green Chile sauce 0 slightly spicy (Might have been called the burrito Chica, because it was smaller, and it was LARGE). My fiance had a different breakfast burrito with steak, eggs, chorizo, cheese, amazing smokey roasted red chiles and also was smothered in Green chile sauce. MAN, was it good.
Dont pass this place up. It IS true old west, with authentic regional food, and offering regular breakfast fare as well. Nearby sat cattle ranchers and cowboys who talked about their farms, the current conditions and farming life - it was interesting to overhear about local life and what it's lke to live out in this type of area.
Service was great; and we went back home to the east coast with half a dozen red and green chile tamales to go - all packed up and ready for airplane travel. Dont miss it.... totally worth the stop!

“Pie is GREAT”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

We were traveling from New Mexico to Colorado Springs looking for a place to eat. We stopped at the Old West Cafe - not knowing what to expect. This is an old fashioned small town diner. Their grilled ham and cheese had lots of ham. Be sure to save room for pie. We had a piece cherry pie that was so big that two of us shared.

Nothing fancy but good food and service. We will stop again next time we are passing through.

“Well Worth It!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

Been by the place a hundred times and finally stopped in. So glad we did, had fresh tasting burgers, fries and green chili all in an old fashioned diner atmosphere took a couple of peices of cherry pie home for later ( watch for pits) All was good and will be back for breakfast next trip.
