First the good: Had a nice big room with two queen-size beds and a small table/desk. The room was decorated nicely and seemed to have been painted fairly recently. The room was quiet, and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located, right off Interstate 25. Denny’s & Burger King are right next door. Other food is within a 2 mile drive. Hotel staff was friendly. They had a nice grassy area for walking the dogs. The shower was wonderful – nice & strong and the water temperature was stable.
Now the not so good: There were ants in the room. At first I noticed just a couple on the nightstand, but there were a few ants here & there throughout the room. There was a little mold on the wall in the shower. The towels were the small thin kind that are common in inexpensive hotels. Although I paid with a credit card, the phone was not automatically enabled for outgoing calls. One of the room keys didn’t work – took 3 trips to the front desk to get it resolved. The hotel has wireless internet in all the rooms. There’s no information in the room that lists the code needed to online. The front desk was able to supply it. NOT a big deal, but the mild inconveniences did seem to add up. The room didn’t have a coffee maker or hairdryer. Maybe that’s the norm for Super 8’s. Not an issue, but it’s been a while since I stayed in a hotel that didn’t have a hairdryer.
For the rate we paid ($52), I’d probably consider staying here again. It’s fine for 1 or 2 nights.
