My wife, two daughters (11 & 13) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Ft. Collins because the hotel was comfortable and we were able to rest before our outings that lasted all day. The initial welcome was friendly and professional as was other needed contact with the hotel staff. There was a very large indoor heated pool with a hotter jacuzzi that was utilized by my family to relax after a full and busy day. The breakfast provided met and surpassed our needs in quality, quantity and early morning timing. The room was very clean and was kept very clean and fully supplied with all the necessary soaps, towels, etc. The accommodations were quiet at night so we could get the necessary rest to attack the next day's activities.
We would highly recommend this Best Western to anyone traveling to Ft. Collins, Colorado

My husband and I travel a fair amount.. We stayed at three different Best Western's within a few days in Colorado and found two to be very nice. This was a good place for us to do some tourist stuff and see the mountains. They took pets which is a must for my husband and I. They had a nice breakfast and friendly staff. For the price, it's well worth it.

I Pricelined the room, though I usually do not Priceline 2* hotels and usually make all attempts to avoid Best Westerns in general. The staff was very rude when I asked if I could have a queen room. They told me that "my rate was too good to be upgraded", though they were only half-full. The room they put me in was so small, that when the maintenance man came by (to attempt fixing a running toilet, which he was unsuccessful at doing) he said they were going to knock the wall out and make it part of a new suite. The hotel was clean and in a good area of town, overall I would not recommend it due to the treatment.

This is a 1960s-era motel which has undergone some remodeling, including the addition of a new lobby and a free-standing building containing a pool and fitness center. The new construction is nice enough, and the remodeled rooms have fairly nice furnishings. However, in some areas the remodeling didn't go far enough, and overall maintenance appears to be inadequate. The bathroom in our room still had its old tub and wall tile, both looking pretty scruffy (and the shower head was strangely low, only about five feet above the bottom of the tub). The room had no hangers and no remote for the TV; we saw a few ants; and we found a couple of hairs in the bed linens and a fingernail clipping by the sink. The exterior hallway was just plain dirty. The continental breakfast was very bare-bones, and the breakfast area--in the new lobby building--is too small when the hotel is full of guests.
On the plus side, the front desk was staffed by young people (probably students at Colorado State Univ., which is directly across the street) who were unfailingly nice, courteous, and helpful. Members of the housekeeping staff--though not as thorough with their cleaning as they might be--also were very pleasant.
Fort Collins appears to be a thriving college town, with lots of good restaurants and attractive shops in its "Old Town" area. The Best Western University Inn is the only lodging in the immediate vicinity of Colorado State Univ., and one of just a handful of options near "Old Town"--so one would think it could successfully be turned into a much nicer hotel.
