“Delicious!”

Their chocolate martinis are amazing, and I've heard great things about the white chocolate bread pudding. Everything I've had from their dessert menu has been fantastic.

“When you need your chocolate "fix"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

Great place for dessert and coffee. Numerous selections even for the more picky individuals. Quite a few unique items. Good service and a nice, casual atmosphere.

“Great but pricey”

Excellent meal. The panini was chocfull (pun intended!) of meat and goodies. Recommend the chocolate martinis! Service was superb by every measure!

“Not bad, but not great.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

Went on a Friday night and wasn't that impressed. First impression is that the ambiance there leaves a lot to be desired. It's basically just a small "room" with very little decor/lighting or anything to make it look nice. I guess it would be hard to do though because it's a space about the size of your average kitchen + dining area.

The concept is good--small main entrees of simple fare so that you have room for the desserts. The problem is that the simple fare is very very simple, and the desserts are not that great. The grilled cheese and tomato soup was decent, but you're looking at a small sandwich consisting of white wonderbread and processed cheese. With so many other restaurants offering thick homemade (or at least artisan) bread, plus things like bacon, avocado, tomato, etc... a simple white bread sandwich with processed cheese is below local standards. The soup was good though with crackers, although I don't eat soup often so I can't judge tomato soup well.

We had two desserts. The german chocolate cake and the chocolate lava cake. The german chocolate cake tasted as though it had been refrigerated for quite a while and just had an overall bland flavor. It actually didn't taste very chocolatey, which was odd.

The chocolate lava cake was also disappointing. It was a very small cake that essentially tasted as though it came straight from a box in the freezer and was warmed up. The cake had none of the buttery softness you taste when it's homemade, and the only redeeming features was the liquid chocolate center. The vanilla ice cream was fine though, although that's hard to screw up.

Service was ok, but a bit overworked as there were 2 people running the whole place.

For a place that prides itself on the desserts, I've had a lot better at many other restaurants, including chain places.

My opinion is that they should turn this into a sub shop and ice cream place. It's too small and unappealing to be a real restaurant, and to make decent desserts you need a real bakery there and not just a freezer full of pre-made stuff.

“Go for the desserts. But do lunch! ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

Yes desserts are amazing but changing up the menu would be great too. Now Lunch is simple and easy. What ever the soup of the day is...get it. Service can be slow so a 30 minute may turn into 60 or 90 minute. Let them know and you will have time for the chocolate raviolis!
