We arrived in Fort Collins with two uncommitted days and we just wanted to disconnect for awhile...no time schedules...no structured days. Through a stroke of luck, we found Inn at City Park and it was the perfect place to relax and renew. The inn is a small home which has been remodeled and decorated in a comfortable country style. It sits in a residential area so traffic and noise are minimal. The inn was VERY clean, the bed comfortable, and the linens were new and upscale. Our innkeeper, Tara, was so friendly and helpful that we immediately felt right at home. The breakfasts she cooked for us, oh my, they were wonderful! The inn has a large wrap around porch and since the weather was mild, I made good use of a chase lounge for reading and napping...nice! One afternoon we used their bicycles (no extra charge) and had fun touring the area. One evening, we visited a local brew pub for supper and had a great lamb stew. Fort Collins has lots of things to do but we spent most of our time hibernating "at home" and thoroughly enjoyed it!
The Inn at City Park would be a perfect place to have a small business/family gathering. They have a nice yard with a barbecue in back, which guests are invited to use. Across the street is a huge city park that backs up to a municipal golf course with plenty of room to work off excess energy and breathe fresh Colo. air. The inn is within walking distance (about 1 mile) of the trendy Old Towne which has many small stores and great shopping. Good place to stay!!
