We stayed four nights at the Armstrong when we came to town for a wedding. And it was indeed a delight. The location is perfect for scoping out Old Town, the shops and the sights.

Our suite on the 3rd floor was at the rear, with a view of the mountains. The staff was quite pleasant and most helpful. My husband took advantage of the cruiser bikes, and I took advantage of the Old Town Athletic Club, both courtesy of the hotel. And, make sure when you go to Lucille's for breakfast (which is a must) to flash your room key and you'll get a free order of beignets -- totally delicious:)

What a great place to stay. We where in town for a wedding and stayed one night in a king suite on the second floor. The suite had a retro modern feel with a very large king bed and a living room type area with couch. The bed was one of the best we ever had. I am going to e-mail the hotel and ask them what kind it was because it was that good. The staff was very nice and personable. The "house" cat was a really neat touch as well. Our room had a shower only and it had two shower heads and controls so we could shower at the same time. It was a big time saver. In the AM we ate at the butcher shop/deli downstairs and it was one of the best breakfast we have had in a long time, very big meals at reasonable prices. We will stay at the Armstrong again when in Ft. Collins.

This hotel is amazing. Beautiful redone rooms in your choice of antique or modern style. Home like atmosphere including the coolest cat ever, Oreo, who was our friend in the night long after everyone was asleep. We were there for a concert across the street on a Sunday night. We had a corner suite that was perfect, comfy, clean and romantic! I was so worried about noise because the walls seem paper thin but no one complained about us and I know we were the last ones awake! The only bad thing was our rental car got hit in the parking lot while we were sleeping and no note was left and I was shocked there was no camera system. (I had to remind myself I'm not in Vegas anymore) :) I probably wouldn't stay anywhere else when in the Fort. I loved looking down at the busy street from the room!

Noise......We stayed in a second floor suite at the Armstrong.

As has been noted, the hotel is above a restaurant. More accurately, our suite was located above the kitchen. This allowed us , the lodgers, to become totally immersed in the art of food preparation.

On the more noticeable level , was the trundle of wheels to and fro , from 3pm to around 11pm.

More subtly perhaps, the miasma of peanut oil for an equal duration of time

Dogeared...... The carpeting in the living room was dogeared.

Additionally, there was no coffee table to be seen in front of our couch in the living area.

The hardwood floors in our bedroom were nice and the bathroom was spotless. Staff were pleasant.

Noting the above ,one may want to look elsewhere

“A Wonderful Stay at The Armstrong”

Armstrong Hotel

May 6, 2008

My husband and I stayed at the Armstrong for a weekend getaway and that is exactly what we got. Our two labradors came with us and felt very at home at the Armstrong. The room was decorated so nicely and the bed was SOOOO comfortable. You might want to ask for more pillows if you like a stiff pillow or bring your own. The location of the hotel is top notch. We were within walking distance to most of what we wanted to do. We didn't realize it, however, until we got in the car to drive to different places. The key holder they give you has discounts at near by restaurants. The Butcher Shop(around the corner) is a wonderful place for breakfest or lunch. We ate at Enzios(I think that was the name) for dinner and had a superb dinner. The Colorado Marathon was going on while we were there yet the crowds weren't bad. We stayed in room 304 which looks over College Ave. If you don't want to hear all the street noise, ask for a room that doesn't face college.

Thanks, Armstrong for providing a wonderful weekend for my husband and I to get away from the snow in Breckenridge.
