“OK-could probably find better...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Small Mexican-tex mex restaurant in Old Town Fort Collins-
Price was right- ordered a couple of soft shell tacos-and chips were extra on the side-
Salsa bar was ok- but none of the salsas were chunky with lots of onions-cilantro-etc
Menu is limited-
Not a lot of seating- and the seating is old school chairs-
I wanted to like this local place but it was super packed on Sunday and very noisy-..will probably not go back..
Food was flavorful but just overall felt the menu was lacking choices-

“Good, cheap and fresh”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

The food here was very fresh and the portions for the chicken tacos large. The kids liked their dishes too (burrito and quesadilla). I would recommend it for casual dining. We didn't get a chance to try the beers and tequilla.

“Best burrito in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

Had the potato burrito with grilled veggies, and was pleasantly surprised to learn that grilled veggies here actually means more than just peppers and onions–it was an actual mix of flavorful grilled vegetables! Loved it so much I ate here two days in a row and am looking forward to visiting again when next I'm in Fort Collins.

“Good but needs some work”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

Small now but moving next store to a bigger space. Food was fresh but quantity didn't match price. Not too over priced but a litttle. Draft Beer was not very cold. Help was friendly. Space was an issue, both behind the counter and seating area. Got there late mid week, missing some salsas and food could have been fresher.

“Fresh Mexican Food in Old Town Fort Collins”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

La Luz is a reliably good-to-great locally owned Mexican Grill in downtown (Old Town) Fort Collins. The Fish Tacos are a mainstay, and some great burrito options here - Pesto Chicken is a personal favorite. I recently enjoyed a chicken (taco) salad, something on the lighter side. Nice salsa bar, with a full range of mild to hot, and recent addition of smokey, beer-based salsa that was killer on the taco salad.

Definite college kid vibe with a few old wanna-be hipsters thrown in for good measure - the usual suspects / Old Town kind of crowd. Excellent on-tap beer selection (including obligatory local brews). Some limited outdoor eating space on the sidewalk out front for those in need of sunshine. Time your visit carefully, this place is packed over the week-day lunch hour - or order ahead for pick-up convenience.
