Description: Jay's Bistro is a locally owned business started in 1980 by Jay Witlen with his wife and partner, Jacki. From humble beginnings through the evolution of Jay's Bistro and Jazz Lounge, Jay's entrepreneurial spirit combined with Jacki's encouragement have inspired them to achieve and maintain the perfect mix of hospitality, entertainment and cuisine in their bistro for the past 28 years. The combination of personally run business and swanky atmosphere, fine tuned by a professional kitchen and service staff creates their recipe for success. Their mission was and is to do this and have fun along the way doing it! "Life is good when you share bountiful things," says Jay.

This is a definite go to for a special night out. The food is fantastic! I have never had a bad meal at Jays. The staff is superior and very informative about the food and wine. Have gotten some very good wine recommendations ther.

“Jay's is the Top of the Heap for Us”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012

We celebrated our anniversary at Jay's recently and as usual the food, service and Jazz was impeccable. These guys really know what they are doing. We thought it rivaled our recent experiences in Vail in terms of quality, and the prices were more down to earth, more Fort Collins, less Vail. Mark Sloniker in the bar area on piano and his friends ( you never know who will be sitting in) is an attraction in his own right and the bar is top shelf all the way around. We didn't much like the table we were seated in, and asked if we could move and they accommodated us immediately and with a smile. What else could we ask for? For fine dining, don't miss out on Jay's.

“Jazz Bar a great place to end an evening out.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2012

Jay's can be pricey for dinners, but the food is usually really great. It is a wonderful evening venue for jazz in the bar, and a good place for coffee and dessert after a program or movie. Consistently good, quiet enough to talk, and it feels comfortable. A great choice if you have the budget to do it!

“Simply the best in Fort Collins”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

We went to Jay's in December on our weekend Christmas visit to Fort Collins. We were looking for a relaxed place with a good choice of wine and food. All of our expectations were met and more! It was really fabulous. The food and ambiance were so perfect. The Brie was simply the best brie I have ever had in my life and the wine selection was extensive. I would love to go back! The night we went they had a Jazz band which simply made our whole experience simply perfect. The service there was also the best we have ever had. Love that place.

“Very impressed with the whole experience.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2011

My wife and I went to J's Bistro since she was gifted with a voucher. We are not food snobs, but we know when food tastes good. We shared a Cobb Salad (not overly large, but very adequate for a meal), then we each had our own selection:
1. Pork Tenderloin - tender, cooked to order and served with mashed potatoes, slivered vegetables and skinny onion rings;
2. Shrimp and Grits - amazing variety of flavors made this a hit. These were the best grits I have had; granted I am a Yankee, but I have eaten grits in Alabama, Africa and at the Waffle House (doesn't really qualify me as an expert obviously), but man, they were good.
The service was flawless. We were treated wonderfully. Lots of tasty, fresh bread kept us munching away as we enjoyed a quiet private booth. The cost is higher than we can normally justify; but hey, for a special occasion we will be back to try some of their other menu items - dessert for sure.
