4/4 found this review helpful

Our family took a 2 week vacation out West. We did not stay more then 2 nights in any one place. I had never heard of AmericInn when I made the reservations. I found them on the internet. Hopefully my first stay with them will not be my last. Of all the places we stayed, this was the nicest. The rooms were spacious, spotless, quiet and dark when the lights went out. ( I sleep much better when it is totally dark. The staff was helpful and very nice.

“Decent budget hotel”

We just returned from a two night stay at the Americinn in Windsor. Our group included my husband, myself, and our two young sons (5 years and 22 months). Overall, the hotel was OK, but it is definitely a budget hotel.

Location: It suited our needs (one day in Cheyenne, one in Rocky Mountain National Park), but if you are going to be spending most of your time in Loveland or Ft Collins, there are much more convenient hotels. It is right off the highway, so if traffic noise bothers you, look elsewhere.

Room: It was a pretty typical two queen room, but I was really disappointed that there was no iron or ironing board. The beds were comfy, and there were plenty of channels on TV to keep our young guys happy for the little time we spent in the room. The bathroom seemed to have been recently re-done, and was bright and clean, but the lighting in the vanity area outside could have used some work. The towels were very cheap and extremely scratchy.

Staff: We started out on a rough note when we checked in at 8:30 at night. The hotel was booked to capacity, but there was only one person working the front desk. While he was very pleasant, it was obvious that he was overwhelmed with everything going on. When we arrived, our reservation was correct, but someone had missed our request for a crib. Since it was past bedtime for the kids, he told us he would have housekeeping get us a crib as quickly as possible. We went to the room and realized we would need a couple of extra pillows as well, so my husband went back to the front desk to make the request. He came back lugging the crib with him, but there was no sheet. I had to go back to the desk to get the sheet, and we still had no pillows. After about 10 minutes, my husband went to check on those, and was only able to get one. I know it wasn't the front desk guy's fault, and he did try really hard to help us out, it was still very inconvenient after a long drive.

Pool: The pool itself was too cold for us to get into, but there seemed to be a lot of kids who didn't care about the temperature and seemed to be having a great time. We elected to stay in the hot tub, which was about the temp of a warm bath and very relaxing.

Breakfast: The breakfast itself was pretty good, with typical continental offerings plus really good waffles and plenty of fresh fruit. The big problem was in the room itself. There were only four tables that could barely seat a family of four. Most people either spilled out into the lobby, or ended up having to take the food back to the room.

Overall, the hotel suited our needs, but I don't know that I would stay there again unless I couldn't find another hotel.
